CALLING ALL LOREMASTERS (MUST READ!!)
My fellow Lore masters! My Question to you is:
[u]Could the Cabal be a possible Ally in the Taken King?[/u]
So we all know that Oryx is mind controlling [b]EVERYONE[/b] to make his Taken army.
We also know that he has the Cabal on their toes at the edge of a knife. There has been hints, screenshots, gameplay...
The Cabal even send a DISTRESS SIGNAL to us, and we go to Phobos to see what's up.
But what finalized this theory for me was this: [b]I was at tower and I heard on the intercoms [u]"Titans needed on Mars to Save the Cabal".[/u][/b]
Holy crap guys! And in case you forgot, the first time we met the Cabal was on Earth, and they were NON-HOSTILE!
I believe in the Taken King, Guardians, Cabal, AND the Fallen will band together to face off Oryx. Or at the very least try to not cross paths and make the Taken the priority.
What do you all think? Let's get a discussion started!
Edit: My apologies, it appears the distress signal was [i]intercepted[/i]. HOWEVER! I noticed near the beginning of TTK ViDoc, a Cabal ship flew right next to the three Guardians, and shined lights on them... But did not attack!

4 RepliesThe enemy of my enemy is my friend. I think they won't be a target, and at some point we may even fight next to them, but once the enemies are gone I can't see them tolerating ha beyond that.

I'm pretty sure the Cabal ship had better things to do like retreat from the Invisible and almost indestructable death that was approaching them. I mean would you really stay in orbit where all your allies are dying just so you can shoot at three guardians that are going to the action. I sure as hell wouldn't. I would fly back to mars and say it's their problem now.

I have an awesome Theory! So what happened to me today is I got to Patrol and went to Ras-2 Bunker, and there I found a 3 Major of Ultras Knights named The Celebrants of the Oryx, even know they were lvl 18, they were pretty strong, after killing them, left of the entrance, I found a Dead Ghost. I got Legends Fragment 2 Grimoire Card and it told theories about who is The Nine. So, are the Nine and the Oryx somehow connected? I remembered Xûr once told me: "I came from the dust and burrowed into the flesh, for warmth." New Hive enemies are called The Taken, they are races being "burrowed into" by Hive. If you read this ghost fragment you can see that there is Theory that The Nine are colonial suirvivors of the Collapse that allowed alien life to control them if aliens guarantee that they will be safe. What If Nine are the colonists turned into taken by the Hive, and the true leader of The Nine is Oryx? Or someone even higher ranked than him?

Maybe, but fallen are also allied to the cabal. I think that a real "alliance" would mess things up, I think it's just a limited time truce.

The way I see the other races: Fallen: Were blessed by the traveller like us, but it left them after some great catastrophe. They want it back (the kings do, anyway...) Vex: Searching through time for some sort of answer to an unknown question Hive: Much closer to the darkness. Only goal is to consume and populate Cabal: war focussed race currently running from the darkness. Feel free to add to or correct me

Just want to point out as well, the fallen and cabal are actually allies.

He keeps hinting that if they don't side with us they will be wiped out. I'm sure some won't... but I feel very soon we will be sided with the fallen. I swear I read somewhere about the fallen and cabal not being hostile towards each other. Seems likely as the cabal aren't actually part of the darkness. neither are the fallen On top of that it could just be a "The enemy of my enemy" situation. Fallen I could see as a playable race in destiny 2. The fallen had the traveler before us, and its more likely than not that like our ghosts, the traveler created servitors.

There are no raids or story content that focuses on Cabal being a great enemy or threat. More like something in the way.

Yeah the Cabal and Fallen are much closer to us than the Vex or Hive. And Halo has already set a precedent for enemies becoming allies.

I'm not so sure we are going to ally with the cabal. From what I heard, we intercepted a distress signal from them. But hey, we get to go to phobos. I wanna find some ancient ghosts.

3 RepliesI don't think the fallen or the cabal are the darkness merely victims in the fallens case and a empire who saw opportunity in either a powerful Ally or a weak enemy to rule for the cabal I mean they don't look that corrupt compared to the vex and hive

1 ReplyI'm not sure. I thought the trailer said a cabal distress signal was intercepted. Not directly sent. It would be cool to get the cabal as allies. But for now I don't think it will happen.
