Xbox One backwards compatibility question

Now that X1 is going to be backwards compatible with X360 games, and that includes save files and achievements too, does this mean that we'll be able to import saves from last gen games to have our choices carry over into the current gen sequels? E.g. Mass Effect 1-3 choices carrying over from X360 to X1 with the release of Mass Effect Andromeda, Deus Ex: Human Revolution carrying into Deus Ex: Mankind Divided (which is kinda necessary, given those endings), or even actions from Fallout 3 having consequences or effects in Fallout 4. Right now I'm assuming that this will be the case, as I'm sure making X1 backwards compatible will make it more accessible to the general public, and would be easier and more time and cost efficient than having companies remastering and mass producing millions of copies of old games that people would then have to buy and replay to get the full experience, making their X360 playthroughs basically pointless. Of course, that only really applies to decision-heavy games, where the player has control of the outcomes, with linear, set-story games like Gears of War still being remastered. Does anyone know?
