The $60 price creates an incentive for new players to buy the game as a bundle. Simple as that. A business such as Bungie or Activision, like it or not, have to make a profit to operate. Clearly they have decided that a cheaper bundle will make more money, as opposed to charging the original cost. Profit will always drive the world, and asking for content from them for free would be like walking into a bank and saying that since you have been a long term customer you deserve a payment from them.
While I agree that the expansion bundle may have come out too soon in Destiny's lifespan, I don't think that your other points are completely sound.
