Borderlands 2 day one = $60
Season pass = $50
$110 for both.
Borderlands TPS day one = $60
Season pass = $30
$90 for both
All together it is $200
Now you can get EVERYTHING as in BOTH games and ALL the DLC for $60.
That is how economics work. As shit gets older, it starts to lose value and drops in price to encourage sales.
By your logic I should be compensated $140 because I bought everything day one.

No. Deprecation happens. However, the example you just gave there is that the product got cheaper to about one third of its price. If we do the math here, since TTK is worth $40, that means new players are essentially paying $20 for the Year 1 content. We paid $140 for that, meaning we paid 7 times the price. It makes no sense that something deprecates to one seventh of its price in the space of a year, especially when it comes to games. The deal you mentioned includes a game published 3 years ago and one published a year ago. This is content that was published one year ago. There's a noticeable difference between 1/3 and 1/7 of the price.
-
Destiny is worth $40 now. TTK is worth $40 All together it is $80 Paid $140 in total because we wanted to get everything DAY ONE. That is how it works. Things have the most value on the first day. A year later they lose their value. Where the -blam!- did you get 1/7 from?! Seriously! If it was 1/7 then it would be $20 for everything. Divide $140 by 7 and it is $20. The people who buy TTK edition are only saving $40 which is how it always works. We $140 OVER TIME as in not in one shot because it is not a bundle deal. They are paying 1/2 because of the bundle.
Destiny itself is worth $40. Half of what it was day one. Should I be compensated $40 for buying it day one? No!
Also Borderlands TPS is not even a year old and look at the discount. We are also basically getting BL2 and all of its DLCs(I think it is 6) basically for free. Multiply 6 by 20 and the cost for all of them is about $120 just for DLCs alone. All they are getting is HoW and CE free. That is how business works kid. They put something in to attract the interest of gamers to buy it. Literally every game does this. LITERALLY!

Borderlands made more than enough money off of their games to do that and they did that to make more and give people what they want. Bungie made a huge sum of cash, large enough to do so, that $500 million they haven't spent yet is going to be used on the other games has already been made up by the amount of revenue they have acquired through Desriny
-
You seemed to have missed the point. You people don't understand anything about how price drops work. Everything drops in price over time. It is a simple thing to understand but I feel like I am speaking 12 different languages here.
-
Also Gearbox is a lot more generous than Bungie, and they knew that they had enough money to combo the games in one bundle and get more than enough money, Bungie received more than enough money across the board for all of their future destiny expansions and games, now they're just scamming us.
-
If you think they are scamming us then you have went off to the deep end. Complete and full moron.
-
And you have officially lost my respect by starting to call names in an argument, I was actually hoping I you wouldn't resort to that. And yes it is a scam, make plenty of money off of the the game's release, sell the same exact game again one year later with the DLC on some codes for the same price, and then make more money. It isn't just Bungie scamming us, it's Activision, they want money. And before you say, "it's a company, of course they want money", you also have to realize that before a company gets money, they have to offer something good to the consumer, which is what they did, but their latest "plan" just screwed the first consumers.
-
So lowering prices and giving deals is a scam? Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahabababahahahajananaha You probably think they should raise prices I bet. Dumbass
-
Edited by Scorcei: 6/17/2015 7:50:07 PMAgain, loss of respect for you. And yes it is a scam because they weaseled extra money off of the people who want the most out of the game and are buying both of the special editions and they are weaseling money off of the people who are buying the game up until September. Also no, raising prices will not help, however lowering the price of the expansion for season pass holders or for players with the special guardian edition would be definitely appreciated by Bungie. Even if the expansion was only lowered by $10 or $15, it would be nice.
-
People that have the game and both DLC's and are spending $80 for a bunch of toys and a bullshit class item are out of their minds.
-
Holy -blam!- you just keep saying something even dumber every time. By your logic, everything should be cheap on day one. You paid $80 to play the game day one. Games. Drop. In. Price. After. A. Year. It is very simple to understand and I don't need respect for some idiot who thinks price drops are a scam. EVERY GAME COMPANY DOES THIS. NBA always drops in price after 2 months, just 2 MONTHS! That is economics and business. Don't like? Don't buy the game on day one and wait a year but you are missing out on the fun for that whole year. You are basically paying full price to play early.
-
Did you even listen to me when I said that I addressed that in a different reply to this comment. Money doesn't work like that so fast, it doesn't change. Either read the comment that I addressed that to or don't reply at all.
-
Oh it doesn't eh? Then why did the price drop after 2 months? NBA is not the only game, have you heard of watch dogs? Watch about Tomb Raider which I got for $5. You are very dense and I hope one day your skull thins out.
-
Also I bet that by the end of this game's lifetime, that we can still buy the DLC for $20 each.
-
I think you are the dense one. First of all Destiny has gotten cheaper, down to $30, even cheaper on sales. However DLC doesn't get cheaper with time if it does then usually it is a major amount of time
-
No one is saying DLC gets cheaper. They either are the same price or given for free in a bundle such as a GOTY edition. I have to explain this to everyone on here.
-
You seriously need to understand how money in business works. I don't even need to keep stating facts in this debate because you are too dense to understand it.
-
Edited by CapoBlue: 6/17/2015 11:35:47 PMComing from the idiot who doesn't know economics and depreciation. Smh
-
All you have proved is that it is genius from Bungie's point of view because they just made a whole lump of cash. However it has done nothing positive to the consumers who have purchased the game already. How hard have you tried in this debate to sound intelligent?
-
Ahh I see now, you are entitle brat who thinks he deserves free DLC because you are a "Day one" player lol. I bet you ask for free milkshakes to.
-
I also said in a recent reply that it doesn't mean people are entitled and want everything, it means that people are angry that they have been screwed in a deal. You've also resorted back to insults which makes me believe that you are the brat. I'm done in this conversation, people resort to name calling when they have nothing left to say back to people, and that is exactly what you've done. Defense mechanisms, Psychology 101 buddy.
-
By your logic, all those people who paid $600 for a PS4 week one are now being screwed because you can buy it for $450. Business, economics and depreciation 101. My insults towards you holds true
-
Compare it more towards the Xbox one because that dropped faster. People were upset because the price dropped immensely, however that was because they removed the kinect, imagine if Bungie removed a small bit of content from the new TTK edition, people would be upset and then buy it. People are upset with this, it is the price difference that is annoying people. Now go and run along and have a life so you don't waste your day arguing with somebody. And before you say it, I don't mind wasting my day like this, I'm giving facts to an uneducated person. Now run along child.
-
The PS didn't have to take anything and the price still dropped. It is call DEPRECIATION and ECONOMICS! Get that into your thick skull. Shit Gets Cheaper Over Time How in the -blam!- is this so hard to understand. You have a brain the size if a peanut.
-
Look around on the replies to the main comment, I said something about price drops and how in one year DLC and the game doesn't get dropped this much along with new content
