Bungie does a fine job with aim assisting in Halo and in Destiny. It's also experience from Halo games. Bungie did a fantastic job in making Sniper Rifles work beautifully. Sure the aim assist is there, but you still need to be good to do good. As a competitive Team Fortress 2 player that off-classes Sniper, I know that when I snipe, I twitch shot. I think a lot of players do that as well. not necessarily quick-scoping, but never hesitating to take any shot they can. The worst that can happen is that you miss. And if you don't take a shot, that's a 100% chance of you not killing your target, as opposed to taking the shot and having a lesser chance at it. If you want to avoid getting Headshot often, do what competitive Halo players do: Aim down when you're jumping. This lowers your Guardian's head's hitbox so that it's harder for them to snipe.

 • Does looking down really work in destiny? I do it but I've never seen any actual proof lol

 • I can't definitively prove it in Destiny without private matches, or someone I know being on the other team, but it certainly worked well in Halo. Assuming Bungie uses the same ideas in regards to hitboxes, the head has its own hitbox (a lot of games do that) but Bungie makes their characters animate looking down interesting, their heads move down when they look down, and I think they also raise their arms because a large weapon cannot just phase through the floor, so it's a interesting detail. I'd assume their head hitboxes move down as well, like it does in Halo, so sniping becomes infinitely more difficult.
