Why aren't the Titan boots he's selling this week already ascended? Aren't all exotics you get since House of Wolves supposed to already be ascended? The Hunter helmet and universal remote are already ascended. Why not the boots?

DLC2 armor and all exotic weapons do not have the attack/defense upgrades. All pre-HoW exotic armor do have the defense upgrades, but they will reach the same maximum as the ascended one's.

No. Older armor will still be able to hit 42 light with just one shard. The MK Stand Asides he is offering are the only ones so far that require two shards to hit 42 light.

Yeah. Any exotics already owned PRE-HoW rollout, you must ascend. I get that. But any exotics acquired POST-HoW rollout, I was under the impression ascension wasn't necessary. Why are the helmets Xur is selling already ascended but the boots not? That's my question.

I don't think this is true, isn't that hunter helmet he's also selling an 'older one' yet IT ascends to 42 with only one shard, and I'm pretty sure I've gotten some old stuff from his random engram in the last few weeks that were also the higher level.

Yeah. Doesn't matter that they are old. I've gotten crest of alpha and Suros since expansion 2 rolled out, both older gear, and both were already ascended.
