Your theory on this weapon is deeper than Bungie's story. I doubt they put that much thought into it.

I actually think they have put this much thought into everything. And that is the problem for most fans. It is so convoluted to derive (especially for most of their gamers) that it is all passed over. I find when I play it now, I try to be more observant - the game is telling a story. It is just very abstract (light vs. dark). The thread openers post reeked of being daft, but actually began to present a coherent image of Bungie's crazy ideas.

I've been thinking of coming up with an entire fanfic backstory to all the main elements in the game. Our technical collage here actually takes ok projects for their students that they do for free but gather credit for. Thus after I'm done; handing it off to them so they can work on a cinematic type thing so it's not a Great Wall of china post.
