  • I chose to play Destiny last Thursday evening!.. . Why special/worth bragging, ok let me start at the beginning. Wednsday night i had a prearranged show to take a relative to, called 'One Night In Istanbul', a old play about four friends and LFC supporters experience during the European Champions Final, in (of course) Istanbul, now for those that don't know about it all it's when LFC went in 3-0 down at half time etc and were basically written off, only to make a comeback and win the game on penelalties.. So, during said play i seen a friend who sort of 'aquires' tickets and such wink wink etc, next night a certain musician aka Mr Paul McCartney was playing the last gig of (most probobly his last ever) world tour, in his Home city, Liverpool, tickets were sold out within minutes for this as it was expected to be acspectacular event, historic even, the show was scheduled to start around 8pm.. now i like P McCartney, loved the listening to the Beatles, loved him (and seen him) in Wings, guy's a God, imo.. i got a call around 6pm saying can i be ready in hour as theres a couple tickets here for the show, (face value alone £175) i could have one for £30 as a favour.. But i said NO i had stuff to do.. people came from Everywhere, Australia, States, lot's from Japan to both see him But more importantly see him playing his home town and most prob last show, well world tour one anyways... i Needed my fix of Destiny i'd missed from night before and sacrificed a once in a lifetime opo to just play it, just to play it!.. well i say once in a lifetime, as i mentioned i'd had chance of seeing him before, back when he played his First 'gig' in Liverpool, (after the Beatles lol, not That old) he came in about 79/80 and done a very small theatre solely for the staff/friends and people connected to his old school, The Liverpool Boys Institute, at time i was about 9/10 and got a ticket c/o my grandpop's who was, at that time the (still functioning schools) caretaker.. also 'heard his 2nd, larger gig mid 90's.. a outside affair that atraccted nany people, didn't need to get in, or past gates/barriers as it was same as bieng there, very loud lol.. so i missed both seeing him and having 'bragging rights' of saying i seen his first and (prob) his last shows in home City..A few people i know that attented told me he never stopped, 3 hours straight. the guys in his seventies but can do That, plus he looks much younger imo.. so, something to brag about?, perhaps, something i will regret?, No, IF i just had not been to a show/missed playing on the Wednsday night i'd of put coat on and been outside Arena within 20 minutes, yep, it's that close to me, a tube train ride away, heard about a poor guy who'd travelled from Sydney, got to about five minutes walk away from Arena and had breathing problems, sad, luckily a couple of others who were headed to same place stopped, phoned ambulance and, even though it caused them to miss part/opening of show, stayed with him until ambulance took him to hospital, yet i chose not to travel for 20 minutes solely for Destiny, and the friends i play it with.. i know, a very long post, even by my standards but am just glad to get it out/off my head kinda stuff, so op, thank you for giving me oportunity to fo so.
