Hey! I was thinking that the pre golden age era guns might be weak at first(like so many other people are saying) but then, you can build onto the weapon and make it into a powerful pre golden age era weapon! So, for example, you got a an m14 like gun but then you could increase its damage Or add a burn to it so that it's scifi worthy!(kind of like how you can evolve husk of the pit)!

Yeah! Excavate weapons, and modify them in your own fashion! That could act as a great way to balance them out considering the "up-to-date" weapons.
