People need to realize That if thorn had all of the poison damage dealt ON HIT at ONCE instead of over time
It would do more damage than a hip fired last word shot to the head
realize how op that is
guaranteed two shot kill every time like it is now
No other gun can do that except for last word, AT THE HIP.
And yeah yeah last word can get 111 headshots ADS sometimes
Still, last word takes learning
Thorn, on the other hand, is literally the easiest gun to use in the history of ever, except for the old vex mythoclast
And before ANYONE says that im just complaining because i dont have a thorn

as much as id like to continue to argue this, it really isnt worth the brainpower and energy opinions are opinions, to nerf or not to nerf, doesnt matter tbh its counterable

Then why do I literally win and not die 85% of the time I face it? Why have I died no more than 10 times total to Thorn this entire IB? If it's op for you, that sucks. I have zero issue stopping it.

Edited by Bawb: 6/7/2015 3:42:32 PMIm aware its broken because i used it so often I still can beat it with ease with other guns, and i rarely pull it out anymore because i dont like using it, i only have it equipped on my warlock to prove a point The reason why thorn is OP compared to its other hand cannon brethren is because its a guaranteed two shot kill ADS every time Hawkmoon is all RNG for the two shot kill And Last word can only get a two shot kill from the hip, and has a learning curve Learning thorn takes seconds because of perfect balance, and once you get used to it you can try send it to prevent range falloff i know that you can beat it, and im sure many can beat it too, but its still broken because of its reliability of always getting a two shot kill, something no legendary hand cannon can do other than with certain perks, and the exotic ones have other factors involved. You can continue to defend it if you want, i dont bash opinions, i only back up mine. If you have anything else to say, id love to hear it, i like to hear both sides.

Also in the end, it all comes down to the person wielding the weapon. Skill > Gun

I read this post and I see a lot of ad hominem, anecdotal evidence (which even from articles is still anecdotal and thus not evidence), and just forgetting basic social psychology of competition. And that is: People have and always will follow Occam's Razor in any competitive vacuum. They will use whatever generates the least amount of effort for the maximum possible reward. And that cognitive miser mentality will go towards any competition, thus singling out a consistent set of tools to play with. It's inevitable. Those of you who put away your thorns and use things like No Land Beyond to try and do well(and from what I've read, to success) in Crucible are ahead of that mentality, and want a challenge. But regardless, anyone who's arguing "facts" are really arguing very strong but veiled opinions. OPINION: I feel bad if I can get someone from halfway across the map with Thorn because of Send It. But that's just me.
