Yeah live by my outdated conventions, don't get paid for doing something fun/what you love. Suffer until you're old and crusty.
Hell, people who play instruments, or sing, or draw shouldnt get paid either, those things are hobbies too. In fact everyone should suffer like I do then get angry at people who have fun making money. Making money should never be enjoyable.

How can you compare a musician to a bum who plays video games all day?
-
So both a musician and a streamer put in hours and hours of time, weather it be practice, playing, or fun. Both entertain an audience, both have to put on performances. Both have to pay for their equipment and expenses whatever they may be. Both must have the ability to hold their audiences attention and usually live or die by how well they do it.... Yet somehow sitting down and playing a game to entertain the masses is not the same as sitting down with an instrument to achieve the same result? Maybe I'm just new here, while different methods both have the same affect, should they not reap the same compensation?

its takes a lot of effort to get a large portion of people attention and keep them entertained for as long as those people are streaming a good example is pewdiepie, as much as people hate him he is entertaining enough for people to follow him and watch him play games in an entertaining fashion. similar to a person who plays an instrument you can tell if someone is doing it as a hobby rather than as a job.
