Thorn is much better than every single weapon in pvp and if you believe in a balanced pvp you should want a nerf. If u don't tell me why. Please have well though out answers and no shit like 'git gud'. Be sensible
Edit: please try be constructive. I want this to be a discussion not people crying and moaning everywhere

Have a look at this

No exotics should be nerfed. They should just be banned from crucible... at least the more competitive modes. It'd make people show some real skill rather than using some crazy perk as a crutch. (and I use TLW)
-
Nerf TLW and make Thorns DoT headshot only.
-
Killing the thorn user stops DoT so no postmortem BS.
-
Thorn doesn't need a nerf, it's fine how it is now. There are numerous ways to counter a thorn user, as well.
-
How to fix thorn: 1. Reduce fire rate to make it a hybrid of fatebringer and word of crota. 2. Replace range buff with speed reload. 3. DoT gets canceled if you kill the thorn user. There, fixed.
-
Lol I beat thorn with last word all day if ur accurate last word is definitely better
-
After Thorn what's next on the nerf agenda? Hawkmoon? Last Word? Felwinters? Efrideets? Where does it end? No more nerfs ever!!! In fact, restore ALL weapons to their more powerful pre-nerf state. And leave ALL shotguns where they currently are...
-
This game is supposed to have weapons that out perform other weapons. it's as simple as that. thorn can be beat in a number of ways.
-
Ruining pve experience all the cry baby -blam!-s in pvp
-
They should make it that if you kill the thorn user you get all your health back that dot took away or if you shoot them since the dot is on you it should transfer dot damage to them
-
"Reasonable discussion"...followed by: "Crutch" and "I 'think' it's" Yeah, kid. Someone is salty over losing all the time.

Edited by Bakeshow: 6/4/2015 10:05:11 PMAll it needs is a slower RoF and it'll be more balanced.
-
Thorn is in an awkward spot because of it's extremely good exotic perk (Kind of OP ya but honestly it's just the perk itself is so strong) it'll either be Amazing or bad just because of its perk honestly as much as I hate facing you can beat it not like it's impossible I know I'll get hate for saying leave it how it is but really it's wait her gonna be terrible or great and I still like to use it for PvE as well PvP because the Juju and Thorn used to be absolutely unusable but now they are so I say leave them
-
Remove the poison damage from it so it's a 3 shot headshot kill just like all other hand cannons and maybe raise stability, lower the last words damage so it's also a 3 shot headshot, there shouldn't be two guns in the game that 2 shot people leaving all others to suffer
-
Buff auto rifles by 5.0 then everything would be fine
-
bekommen gute Peeling
-
I think that if they put auto rifles back exactly where they were, no need for balancing because if they're all OP no gun would rise above another The only thing after that is improve scouts and you would be done
-
I think it needs to be nerfed, but bungie needs to be careful about nerfing it into oblivion

As someone who has Thorn but doesn't use it, here are my thoughts: It's actually a hard gun to use! It doesn't have as high a target acquisition as other HCs (at least from my experience), so kudos to those who are good at getting those headshots and 2-hit kills. However, the guys who just spam bullets and hope they land a shot are really annoying. And it's obvious which kind they are when you're facing them. Here are some adjustments that could be made to lower the prevalence of the latter: Too much range - even with the previous nerf that increased the drop-off damage of HC's, Thorn is still a sniper. Especially with its increased range perk. Burn damage postmortem - I think it's retarded that if I win a shootout against a Thorn-user, that I should pay the price. I clearly won the shootout, why should he get a kill? This is a suggestion that I have heard in the past and I'm echoing it here. I think the the burn damage from Thorn should die with the player wielding it. Now I understand that there are other abilities that carry-on even after death (grenades, supers, etc), but all of those are somewhat avoidable. If a Titan throws a lightning grenade while I kill him and I stay in its blast radius, I deserve to die! Same goes with a warlock vortex. But why do I deserve to die when the Thorn-user lost the shootout? The final suggestion, which plays into the previous complaints would be to have the Thorn damage only take effect after being shot more than once. (From an engineering perspective, I have no idea how to implement this, but I like the suggestion) This would prevent those who simply spam bullets across the map since they would actually have to aim and hit the person at least twice. If this were to work, I would say to ignore the postmortem comment above. I don't think Thorn should be completely removed as a competitive gun, so it would be one or the other. Personally, I prefer the 1st option, to eliminate the burn damage upon death of the wielder. Sorry for the long comment, clearly something I've kept bottled up! Lol

IMO. The RATE OF FIRE should be slowed down to counter balance the DOT perk... Speaking from experience from using it often in the past and countering my opponent, quite often all one has to do is fire thorn as fast as you can and one can get out of many sticky situations. This is where the "no skill" issue stems from and it's because of its RATE OF FIRE. Slow it down in my humble opinion.

Because it is just that Iron Banner and Trials have advantages enabled, and Thorn is one of the guns that's good with advantages enabled. It's not overpowered though. I jave Thorn and use it, and get beaten by Mythoclasts about 80% of the time. It's just people noticing they get killed by Thorn and being pissed off. Its not more powerful than any other gun and there are.more overpowered guns.
-
If they dont nerf it i want a tlw with 13 rounds in the mag, hawkmoon should have 6 random bullets and they should remove all nerfs on suros, vex, pocket infinity
-
I don't have it, but if someone puts the work in to get it, then have at it...
-
It's not better than every other weapon in pvp last word destroys a thorn In a gunfight
-
Thorns DoT is what makes it so OP. I honestly don't think any other guns need a nerf. They excel in certain areas and sucks in others (TLW at range for instance). The issue is that Thorn does insane damage then keeps you vulnerable for several seconds extra (seconds might as well be years in PVP). I'm fine with it doing insane damage or having a dot. But it can't have both or it becomes insanely overpowered. Cut the damage output and half and it becomes a reasonable option rather then the end all be all of PVP.
-
I use it. The last cries from the player base to "nerf" guns led to the downfall of the suros as a go to but also made the whole AR line a disappointment to use in pvp. I would love the old AR battles of days past but as things change we change with them. Until they make a challenge mode with only vanilla weapons - use what works to have a good time and play your way.
