Thorn is much better than every single weapon in pvp and if you believe in a balanced pvp you should want a nerf. If u don't tell me why. Please have well though out answers and no shit like 'git gud'. Be sensible
Edit: please try be constructive. I want this to be a discussion not people crying and moaning everywhere

Have a look at this
-
Massively decrease the aim assist and decrease the max stability Seems like a good balance.
-
Lol What a failure

Edited by Erijian: 6/4/2015 8:14:48 PMI think Bungie should reduce the Poison damage down to 4, but have each shot refresh the Poison duration instead. It'll no longer kill most players with two headshots that way lowerig the overall TTK of the weapon by a bit, and also simultaneously buff the PvE side of it.
-
Honestly it is ridiculous how over powered Thorn is. That is the only weapons that kills me like 70% of the time and it is very annoying. It doesnt take skill to get two EASY shots with thorn and kill a guardian, NO SKILL REQUIRED. Anyone who thinks it should not be nerfed, they are clearly using it as a crutch and its BS and your lying to yourself if you say NO...

Edited by Ukelaylay: 6/5/2015 1:22:56 AMHave you done the bounty? I had to do the whole thing without a void primary and didn't gat a void shotgun until halfway done, and then I had to solo xyor After all of that, I will be very pissed if they nerf it Btw, if you sit down(in game) it cancels the burn effect
-
Edited by Zaroeth: 6/5/2015 1:19:42 AMI believe they leave it the fück alone, reasons for that mindset being: 1. Because their are weapons that can EASILY counter it... And 2. If they do nerf it, it would become absolutly useless... (Just like what happened to auto rifles)
-
Thorn shouldn't be nerfed. Reasons why: 1) Because 2) How would anyone get kills 3) Thorn can melt steel beams
Thorn did 9/11
-
Edited by Roach: 6/4/2015 11:27:16 PMFirst off i use it. Second; it is OP as all get out and it doesn't need a nerf. All other weapon subclasses need a buff. Plain and simple.
-
Just reduce range. That is all.
-
Um two words Vex Myhoclast Why isn't that being nerfed for pvp
-
You know what counters it TLW and hawkmoon
-
Red death counters thorn. Too many people in this community are just bad at games and resort to complaining about everything instead of learning how to counter them.
-
Reduce the time of DoT and make it not able to kill. Or reduce the mag
-
I just really don't want all hand cannons to get nerfed
-
I don't think it needs a nerf but that auto rifles need to be returned to their previous state. Before the auto recipe nerf the only complaints about Thorn was that the bounty was to hard. Guns like SUROS and Vex out gunned it easy. I miss using my SUROS. It was my go to PvP weapon and Thorn was my PvE weapon of choice. But now I use Thorn for everything since the guns I want to use suck now because of Nerfs. Ever since HoW the Thorn nerf topics have been abundant. But I rarely ever die to thorn and only one time can I remember getting killed by its dot.
-
Nerf should happen but at the same time i dont trust bungie , i mean , look at the AR's , ok nerfed in crucible but also in PVE ??? This is what happens when u make a lazy ass version of a MP in a game like this , shit , remember when Crucible was supposed to be like IRON BANNER all the time with Lvl advantage on all the time and it wasnt till after release they said " ummm nope , we changed that" even the first IRON BANNER was BS having Lvl 5 destroying people XD
-
Edited by Fidelio: 6/4/2015 10:47:43 PMNerfing a single gun won't solve the problem of crucible balance. Just as a side thought, what would people think if they changed the thorn DoT to stop ticking if the player with thorn dies? So if you kill them before the DoT kills you, you survive. Thoughts?
-
Thorn shouldn't be nerfed imo because of one single reason: it CAN be outgunned. I've bested people with thorns left and right with hawkmoon/tlw/suros and I am not even that good in PVP. Is it annoying? Yes, is it a good weapon? Yes, but its not an unreasonable gun. If thorn was like the old Vex then it should be nerfed, but it isnt.
-
I don't think that it should be nerfed, But I have an idea that would change how the weapon is used. Due to the lore behind the weapon, it being corrupted, I think that there should be some sort if negative effect on the wielder if they use the weapon. I'm thinking along the lines of something like the chaos blade in dark souls; as in, a small amount of health is lost when firing the weapon. It would offset the DoT, and force the wielder to consider their shots that they take. From a lore perspective, the corrupted nature of the weapon means that a guardian's own light is used to create the signature thorns that it fires.

Edited by Seraphim Frost: 6/4/2015 11:00:20 PM"Why shouldn't thorn be nerfed??" *"..."* "Well?" *"Because"* "Because what??" **¡¡¡"BECAUSE I'M BATMAN"!!!*
-
Buff the other weapons I used to take kids lunch with suros. Ever since they nerfed auto rifles and fusion rifles thorn users have come out of the woodwork
-
Personally I don't have a problem against the thorn, however I'm happy to see a reasonable post as opposed to nerf this that and the other, faith in the community starting to be restored.
-
Honestly thorn is only ok in pve, and I never use it so I don't care if it gets nerfed. My worry is that bungie will nerf ALL hand cannons. That I do not want.
-
My thing would be to just deactivate any perks any weapon has in PvP. That way, no one complains about perks, and Destiny becomes just another CoD.
-
I believe it should be nerfed to a point that it isn't OP. Precision hits should give your poison body shots shouldn't. Rewarding ppl for good accuracy would be key making it less useful for ppl in PVP that use it as a crutch.
-
No exotics should be nerfed. They should just be banned from crucible... at least the more competitive modes. It'd make people show some real skill rather than using some crazy perk as a crutch. (and I use TLW)
