Trials of Osiris

Hey guys, Honorable OG Pimp here, I just wanted to share a quick post with some learnings and findings and generate more conversation about strats and whatnot in ToO. First off, Warlocks are pretty pimpalicious in the Trials. I lost my 8-0 to a team of three Warlocks as they Radiance was really hard for us to deal with, especially when they have a chance to collect orbs and regen again a round or two later. It can be extremely helpful and turn the tides in your favour even when you are down a couple of games to 4. Sticky nades FTW! So try and have a warlock or two on your team for sure! Second, and specifically this week, I personally realized that I suck Ron Jeremy schlong with snipers and it hurt my ability to compete this week. Luckily I found some team mates that were great with the sniper and I had some luck. When building your teams definitely try to build a strategy when your coming into the Trials, and be well rounded and prepared for most situations. Third and expanding on my last point, come in with a strategy but definitely be changing it up once your in there. Don't let them get to comfortable and neither should you. try different routes, learn pinch points, and one strategy I learned was invaluable this week is flanking your opponent especially on a sniper heavy map like this weeks. You can gain the element of surprise with these sneak attacks (of sorts) and really get them flustered and scattered. Closing in quick on them once you have sprung this attack can be very fruitful. I'll be the first to admit though this is a high risk, high reward as it does leave your team a little split up so save this for a couple rounds in once you can guage your opponents skill level and play style. As many of us have learned Trials can be very frustrating some times, take a minute to breath, switch things up in there when it isn't working, have some fun! Hope that kinda helps, gives some things to think about. Feel free to expand!

  • Quick FYI: If you add the #Help tag to your posts they will show up in the general public #Help category. I've gone ahead and removed that tag from this post so it only shows up in your clan forum, as I imagine you intended.

    • Some of us already spoke about this. But i would like to add it here. "Smart boon usage" I noticed that, when you use all boons right when you buy your passage and you go in there with a fireteam that you haven't played with or that are not skilled enough to easily get a flawless, its better to be smart with spending your coins. Spending 9 coins straight away and starting of with one or two losses is going to be really expensive. So we noticed that buying your free win at the start is always good, but be sure to get a good flow and get 4 or 5 wins in before you buy the mercy. We advice to use the boon for the double win at 7 wins. That way you need to only win one more match and you got your flawless passage. Ofcourse if your super confident you can just buy it all at the start and get it done. But if your short on coins, or not as confident that you will get the flawless right away, then smart boon usage is definetly something for you!
