Prison of Elders Checkpoints

Bungie, Here I am with the Eight Edition to this request. My brother asks me to help out with the 34 on Sunday. I go to log in and get Caterpillar three times, then Disconnected from Xbox Live. I go to log on, get to my character, set destination for the Reef, punch it and get Caterpillar. I log on, do my thing and join up in the 34. I go to run out and get Caterpillar. I join back, get to round three (where I the reconnect screen and spawn in dead. We beat round three, go to the airlock where I get booted. Caterpillar. I go to log on and it happens two more times, then I get disconnected. I reconnect to Xbox Live, get back in to party and my brother, dejected at this point, says 'we don't have to do this.' To which I reply 'we got this.' I invite a friend, who joins me after I get two more Caterpillar codes. We land and beat the damn thing. This was on the 360. My friend that joined had to leave and my brother was fed up with the whole process, so he called it a night. I switched to the One, which I have Destiny for, and play without issue. Not a single error code. Being that one of our two-man team was about to quit and I was barely able to maintain connection, I feel this qualifies for another request for a checkpoint. Again, here is my recommendation: make it so you get a checkpoint 'boon' at the beginning of each round. Character specific, not shareable with a fire-team. If everyone in the team has the check point, then everyone can participate (up to three players, obviously). Post statement: I hit the 10,000 character mark and my original post could not be 'truncated.' The original seven iterations can be found in the comment section or at this link: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/138813824/0/0/1

 • Completely agree. There are so many reasons this is needed and CAN be done well and fairly. Perhaps some kind of key that gets awarded after clearing each round. All 3 players need to have the key to open the door, and open the door at the same time. Might get a little annoying with multiple wipes, but I'd rather sacrifice holding down a button for a door each round in order to have checkpoints. The keys would also mean that someone who has already run through it could go back and help out other players, but not skip them straight to the final boss. Trials of Osiris keeps track of your wins and losses, why not keep track of doors cleared? Might not even need the key idea and the checkpoint is automatically whatever the least common denominator is between the three players. GT wouldn't have to block or warn anything, just start it up and open whatever door is appropriate for the team. Finally, this would also prevent people from LFG for only the final boss, which is probably what bungie was trying to avoid in the first place by not implementing checkpoints. If you don't clear the doors, then you can't jump in with your buddies after they clear it and boot their poor innocent random helper.
