Are you paid by the word, or something? How can someone write so much, yet be incapable of making two friends?

  • You are missing the point entirely, at no point on his argument he claims that he can't make friends. He did provide a few examples of why people have trouble getting people to play certain content. I'd add times and life commitments to the list of obstacles that some of us face while grouping to play. I for one just get interrupted by my kids or my work all the time and the little time I can dedicate to playing often is when most of my friends have already done the activities or are sleeping/working because they live all over the world its certainly not our fault that Bungie has decided that you can only do some of the activities once a week if you expect any rewards. its is hard/uncomfortable to keep asking for people to repeat the already too familiar activities knowing full well they are not getting anything till the next week. Its not impossible though, just nothing like hitting play and letting the game find me willing players at that particular moment through optional matchmaking.

Why would I want to LFG or be friends with you? If you'd like to talk to me about in-game mm and why you don't want it, feel free. If you want to prove my point, keep doing what you're doing.

  • Likewise. That's my point: Destiny isn't just like real life, it is real life. It's a game you really play with real people. And just like everything in life, you're not going to get on with everybody. It's ridiculous to expect everybody's LFG experiences to be delightful, and it's ridiculous to expect everyone who has a group of friends already to extend a warm welcome to all and sundry, regardless of who they are and how they act. In the real world, there will be people you don't like. This is okay. All the current endgame activities need only three people. Which means you need only two friends, and you're sorted. More than seventeen million people play Destiny. Surely you can tolerate two of them.

And if none of your friends play? If none are on? If you don't want to or can't use LFG, how would being able to play with a random in the same situation affect you or your experience? Again, you're insinuating I have no friends or social skills. You're making assumptions and passive aggressive judgmental remarks. This isn't about me. In fact, it's not about either of us. This is about anyone that feels excluded, anyone who's been judged and kicked, anyone who just wants to play the game without bulls**t. So again, how does that impact you?

  • You thought I was addressing you? I was always addressing the archetypal "sour-grapes 'solo player'" who's always wanted to play with friends, but never made the effort. What he needs to do is go make some friends. There's a multitude of support channels available for people who don't make friends easy, yet still want to play Destiny. He should avail himself of them. Destiny involves real-world interaction with real people; not every interaction is going to be the start of a beautiful friendship. But the best way to guarantee it won't is to not try.

  • It's one thing to tell someone to "go make friends" it's another to walk in their shoes and experience what they've experienced. How many -blam!- victims have developed behavioral disorders and been told "just get over it" or "just get help". It's not that easy. Just because someone isn't comfortable making friends doesn't mean they don't want to be around people and they don't wish they could. It's too easy to judge when you only try to see the world through your own eyes.

  • One of the reasons they filter that word is to stop you making asinine comparisons to it.

  • Asinine comparisons? Are you intimately familiar with it? How do you know the pyschological barriers that prevent people from using lfg or joining clans, etc? You've talked a lot and managed to say next to nothing. At some point in this conversation, it would be lovely if you tried to actually have a point.

  • Unless people now get life in prison for maybe-not-wanting-to-play-with-you, your comparison is asinine and insulting.

  • So you're pretty much not going to start making sense?
The better half of reading is comprehension. Try it sometime.
