Until the system is fed misleading and often times bogus data that doesn't actually represent your assets or specific skills in hard to ascertain categories. Its the same reason IQ tests are so unreliable. The data doesn't cover everything and will feed people bullshit ideas about where they stack in the line up. Aggregators and shortcuts will marginalize players who depend on meeting people and forming dependable relationships. Having the freedom to determine who you play with is fundamental to experiencing long arduous tasks at their fullest. I ran matchmaking solo for years and never maintained a large friends list because everyone was in it silent trying to get their selfish gain. It was lonely and sucked by comparison. Now I use the forums and have 200+ active guardians to play with regularly. The forum now exists for me as a way to meet NEW friends and to help others. If we were allowed to just throw ourselves blindly into matchmaking this place would be ghost town ground zero and we would lose this resource.
