Players WANT optional matchmaking

Deej asked what players want? And wanted them to make new posts! Well I and many others would like optional matchmaking !! I work two jobs and when I do have the luxury time to play video games I want them to be fun and simple to start. Going to a off game website to find players to play with is ridiculous. It's not enjoyable and I will not be doing it in future Video game products. I do have a large friends list and I do have a small group I routinely play with. If that small group is not on I am left with a large group that I have to individually message in attempts to simply play the raid, PoE arena, ToO, nightfalls or crucible. In Destiny I see my friends list and have to individually select a player and it shows their current activity but I have no way of knowing what they "want to do" or if they want others to join( if they have a open spot or reserved for someone else). My suggestion would be if players could select a activity with a different button to Queue it or add it to a "want to do list" and then friends could see that when looking through friends lists. We could then quickly join and after the activity is completed it's removed from queue and they can select a new activity. But this game also badly needs optional matchmaking in game. Let players match up and quickly play the content. If the big fight and stopping point is the content is end level and it's too hard for random teams ......get real! Bungie stop and look at results and numbers. Make difficulty levels for that content if you think it's too hard. Make a setting For VoG or Crota that's easy and randoms could beat. (Frankly I think randoms can beat it as it is but). And for gosh sake look at the numbers of players that cheese those encounters as it is. I'm sure many would actually select easy mode. At least it would get players actually into the content and playing and not left on the sidelines. 19% of players have played a raid. What's happened to that other 81% ??! This game is centered around Co-OP and playing together so I don't care if the easy and hard mode rewards are the same. If the MLG pros complain that they didn't get anything for harder content that's ridiculous. That's how most games work. If I play the Witcher on easy OR hard I get the same weapon drops an the same items. Wolfenstein gives me the same gear on baby mode as megadeath mode. If they really need something give harder levels cosmetic items like shaders or emblems and make weapons and gear drops equal. But that's a different discussion. Optional matchmaking needs to happen. I hope you all listen and discuss this. Because many (MANY) players are discussing it and they want it. It WILL effect the future of your games and who comes with you to the sequel products. Not a threat but competition is coming. You have had a very good this last year and that's partially because next gen titles have been light but many are coming. Do you really think Ubisoft will force it's players to use outside LFG sites to play The Division ?? Good luck Bungie and thank you for listening. Edit: thanks for all the positive feedback. Thanks for the negative ones too even though True Optional Matcmaking done correctly would not hurt you pre made team players. It would actually help. By adding more players to get into content, more might enjoy it, and more players means higher sales numbers and player counts for Activison which leads to more development money for Bungie. That leads to more resources for the game world ( DLC , weapons, planets, etc) and that helps ALL players including those that hate matchmaking. Either way. Thank you all. And now here's a short spoiler story about a local strip club and how it relates business wise to force your customers to use a outside LFG website.
Let me tell you a quick business story. A local strip club has a no alcohol/near nudity county law. That club has to have two buildings and anytime you want boobs you walk in the left building, now you get thirsty, you have to leave and walk 45 feet away to separate building to buy booze, get a buzz and then want to see boobs again?....you exit walk 45 feet go back through security and look at boobs and repeat. guess what happened when another club built their boob/booze joint 6 miles away and off county laws and could sell booze AND boobs in the same building?......any guess? ....the new club had crazy business, packed every night and made a fortune .....and the other club that was separate and involved 45 feet of walking lost sales and went under. True story !!! Think about it.
• Optional matchmaking has been debated to death, but again, the quality I find my experience lacking is due to matchmaking at all. As it stands currently not even the lfg sites seem to be helping with that solution. People just don't want to learn the strategies, map windows, and do well in the game. So no. I am against optional matchmaking because it involves matchmaking which only floods endgame content with more people who are stopping themselves from being able to complete it. Sorry Op.
