Ninja Gaiden follows a pattern though. Going into some of the boss fights with the wrong special weapon was death sentence sometimes though.

Meh. I feel castlevania 3 was hard. Just because of that final stage has no check point next to Dracula. Unless you mean the newer ninja gaidens. Then I haven't played those. Closest thing I've played to the new ninja gaidens is bayonetta and bayonetta 2. 2 hardest mode disables witch time. Getting too use to having it messes you up when you play the hardest difficulty.

...and none of that NG Black shit on easy either. Xbox original, with the crappy camera angles and the crappy bow aiming and no hot key menus. The devil incarnate lol. Still, I've played harder but yeah, it's way up there.
