So what I'm reading here is... You want to play call of duty... While playing destiny? Mmm, I'll pass.
English
-
Not exactly. Plus, I don't like Call of Duty.
-
Fine, battlefield, whatever lol. Point is, why the hell would anyone want to use pre-golden era weapons? It's the future, if the old weapons still worked they wouldn't be using the new ones
-
Most of our weapons are infact old -.- I expected scifi guns in this game, needless to say I took tot he fusion rifle, and aside from hat, I was disappointed. (untill I completed campaign, then after that, once got to level 20, was kinda disappointed again) If we have old kinetic gun's in this game, then I want a bow! (yea you heard me, this game is all scifi, but with ... normal guns, If the weapons are going back in time compared to rest of the game, then I want to go even further back.)
-
Aside from the fusion rifles, like you said, a great majority of the exotics we use are not "old" lol. Red death/suros - heals the user Vex - obvious Ice breaker - regen ammo Patience and time - user is invisible Invective - regen ammo Mida - user is faster Thorn - obvious Gjallarhorn - wolfpack Dragons Breath - fireball Thunderlord - enemies explode Super good advice - ammo comes back to the gun when it misses Etc. Same goes for any weapon with an element. None of these are "old" lol.
-
We need more plasma weaponry though :D!

Exotics do not count period ( even so, old is good, future is good, modern day military looking stuff, not so good) ..... (oh and FYI fourth horseman, BS! bungie damn well knows that is a break action shotgun but they said F-U to the community that got excited when they first saw it. which includes me XD ) Anyhoo, I was just responding to your post, I do not want to, in my games, use a p-90, mpk-4 or any modern firearm, I want good old classical, antique/ornate weapons, tribal weapons, or future-tech weapons, I want creativity, not modern firearm types put into destiny.... Some of the weapons get a pass as being creative.... Lastly, when I saw hand cannon, I got excited, only to find out its a revolver and be let down... (though was an energy weapon) then I was slightly excited to find out the barrel is at the bottom of the cartridge/magazine :p
-
How do they not count? Lol like that is the epitome of future weapons in the game and they are the best for a reason. I get what you're saying though, makes enough sense to me

Edited by Hopeinmo: 5/24/2015 12:02:23 AMPerks mean very little, the creativity comes from the weapon itself, TLW NLB Forth horseman, good examples of old, yay P&T good example of decent designed middleground Icebreaker Thorn, Fusions, hardlight, decent examples of future tech Exotics do not count because they are a small portion of the game What counts is the basic models bungie uses for everything, common - rare, and some legendary... most the weapon concepts are old, / modern.... Games need a specific amount of a fantasy factor, destiny let me down with is massive amount of, modern firearm tech. Fantasy extends to the past/history and future-tech. (If I could wield all exotics, I'd have no issue, I would have either, Truth+Icebreaker+hardlight, taking the futuretech setup, TLW/NLB/UR+forth horseman+Dragons breath, for a retro setup, or Thorn+invective+.... I guess thunder-lord, for a magic themed setup,.. I like stuff that matches, that looks like it should be together, that doesn't feel like modern military stuff) Hm... I think I am losing my perspective, if i Had a proper perspective to argue from originally O_o main point! game disappointed by modern style weapons, when I found non modern styles, I got upset I couldn't make a setup of matching items... Edit: Oh, And I would like to have a futuretech crossbow / bow n' arrow in destiny, not exotic :P
-
I see what you're talking about, more interested in the looks of the weapons and the creativity involved in the weapon making process. We were on two different pages before i think :p and i agree a bow would be fun, but it would probably have to be a one shot to be worth using haha
-
I would assume it be a sniper,... And i would use that with ... probably bad juju, as a wild thing theme.... maybe P&T... Ornate theme... Gjaller, TLW...... and whatever special is ornate...... :P If seen clone wars series, at least parts to do with night sisters, or been enough of a fan of bleach to know of the quincy... (hell even look at runscape for Zaryte, and crystal bows).... a bow that launches an energy rod, would be so my thing :p

Edited by colonel4h2: 5/23/2015 3:16:29 PMI understand. It should all be just there, ya know. If someone wants to use it, they can use it. For example, right now, we have modern modular rifles. It may be the 21st century, but plenty of people still use the outdated .308 hunting rifles, MP40s and of course, the AK-47. So, it's just an option to use them. It's just like players who use the Khvostov in the Crucible, just because they can (Which is actually a great PvP weapon), despite being able to use the more modern SUROS.
-
Yeah i hear what you're saying. I guess it wouldn't hurt to have that sort of thing as an option, but it feels a bit out of its element in a game like destiny to me. The first rifle is one thing because it's the only option available at the time, you know? But afterwards the guardian ditches it pretty quickly for something "better", by their standards at least
-
Definitely, I agree. I don't think they should be like amazing, just mixed in.
-
I would be ok with this :p

Edited by colonel4h2: 5/23/2015 3:14:47 PMAlso just having a weapon that CoD has, does not constitute a game to be CoD.
