There are more evidence for the Bible than the chariot wheels scenario, but it's the other difficult questions that cause an atheist to doubt God other than falsely reasoning: Is hell and the Lake of Fire really eternal? What happens to a child when it dies? Where did God come from? Why is there evil if God exists? Why doesn't God literally talk to us today? Questions like these are what often cause an atheist to doubt. It is truly unfortunate.
