I have always wondered, what if we are the first? I know it sounds improbable but it is not impossible. Suppose for a second that the human race is the oldest intelligent race in the universe.

If we are the oldest and wisest sentient species in the universe, I'd wager that the universe is pretty -blam!-ed. We as a species can't work together to promote acceptance and equality, and until we do, we are living on borrowed time till we kill ourselves through starvation or nuclear weaponry. Terrible figures to learn from. We need to set better examples for dah babeh alienz. C'mon, we can do it fellas.

Edited by Gladlin: 5/28/2015 4:09:58 AMI don't think the universe is screwed if we are the oldest. Wisdom must be attained through experience. Our long time descendents will benefit from the harsh lessons that our generations are learning the hard way. In our current state, I agree with you, we are poor teachers. But 200-1000 years from now or maybe even 1 million years from now we could be excellent teachers.

That would indeed be crazy
