Like many of you, I spent countless hours this weekend grinding the "wolves" events in search of treasure keys. It was fun for about the first hour or two... but after that it was irritating beyond belief.
I found 2 keys and 2 legendary engrams.... and a shit ton of blue engrams.
I can't believe they actually thought this would be a good idea or fun for us players. HoW isn't even out yet and I'm already feeling completely let down. The mindless idiocy of running back and forth between 2 spots on a map... fighting the same fight over and over and opening chest after disappointing chest.... is this a sign of what the rest of the DLC is going to be like?
I'm sure many of you will disagree with me and that's likely because these forums are filled with a lot of people who will be fans of the game no matter how much it goes to shit.
Anyway... If I'm doing a patrol bounty and stumble across a wolf event, I'll stop and do it... but beyond that... I'm DONE with that tedious grind!

People saying "Bungie didn't intend for people to grind this for hours", where are you getting this information from, is there a post by Bungie stating this?
-
I gave up yesterday after I lost count of chests opened, 400 blooms, 156 helium filaments, 80+ blues, 2 legendaries, 70+ synths and not one key. Tonight, I just log in to pickup the day6 bounties to complete, I run the bounty once, then a defend the warsat comes on, so I stay to do that for energy/shards. Then the wolves turn up again, so I do it again. Both times engrams and much needed synths ;) Load back into the tower because I got nothing, and there's a key at the postmaster. I nearly sh*t myself. RNG - you utter ****bag

Edited by M4N_OF_T1N: 5/18/2015 8:49:51 PMI see it as you have killed the game for yourself. With work, home life and going out with friends, I haven't Evan managed to get all the queens bounties done let alone spend hours on end farming chest. Sure the content of the dlc might not keep you entertained for long, but for people like me who only get the odd hour here and there on the game they will be happy for months that's not being a fan boy it's just how it is.
-
You retard you choose to grind them.
-
5 keys, 6 legendaries, all 3 toons inventories full and vault full of blues. Tbh, it was fun to casually patrol with friends and attack the waves of Fallen. Having the "war" event spawn, Urzok spawn, then the Wolves spawn with 2 other friends was immensely fun. Grind isnt bothering me for a change. Its more relaxing fun and a better engram's farm than ROC strikes.

I have two keys and 3 legendaries, 2 chest one shoes :)
-
Eat a snickers.
-
Dude I just got my 4th one today before I left for work.
-
These Wanted bounties were intended for you to only complete once. And the reentering the area to open the same chest twice is an exploit. It doesn't make sense to blame the game for you not playing it the way it was intended.

Edited by tanis38: 5/18/2015 7:56:57 PMI kinda think that is the point. If you stumble upon one of these, you stop and do it. Pretty sure Bungie's intention wasn't for people to farm these for 8 hours straight.
-
Done crying?
-
I'm sure the intent wasn't to grind that for keys -- the keys are probably a drop chance. People just chose to grind it because despite how much they complain, they can't understand the game isn't meant to be ground like that. It's like the people who would delete their characters and re level for a new lockout, or play the same class three times and get bored of the class. You chose to do it. Yeah, I wish this game had less competitive content among other much needed improvements, but repeating a public cheat event for the off chance of more keys is not worth my time. I'll grind some things, but not those locations for hours.
-
I'm hoping this isn't the main way to get keys after first PoE completion. I can't stand content inflating through grinding.
-
You relive this is just a side event right, your being stupid
-
Honestly, I more or less agree. I completed the bounties on all my characters, got one key, and have no interest in continually doing the same thing. I will say I don't think this means anything with regards to the update on Tuesday. This was clearly trying to run the hype train to get people excited for all these engrams and keys.
-
You are in the minority. Nearly everyone else is just happy to have something new
-
I got one key. I see some people say they got 20. Lol so what. They can have all the keys they want. Most of those players are the ones who will struggle completing the lol 35 and probably don't have friends to play with. I don't care. I'll complete the content and get the items I want. I'm looking forward to ToO so I'm not worried about the treasure keys
-
I only got 1 key but I did get like 3 legendary heavies. I agree though it was a lot of crap.

Edited by ewiz06: 5/18/2015 8:20:47 PMUmmm . . . . I don't think Bungie's intent was for people to farm chests hour after hour for 3-4 straight days. If you chose to do so then it was YOUR choice. You could have just done the bounties once each and then got a few chests if you happened to see the Wolves while doing a Patrol or a Public Event. Bottom line - - - don't blame Bungie, blame yourself

Yeah, this who Queen's Wrath pre-release event has actually seemed to help me kick my Destiny addiction. When it first released I missed chest after chest because I couldn't find them, that was enough to make swap to Hulu for a few hours. After maps were popping up on the internet for the chest spawns I started playing again only to realize that I'm solo'ing group content and no one's being fed into my patrols. I still have not received a single treasure key and I've been playing the game as intended. So based on those results I'm seeing the need to "cheat" and exploit reopening chests just to "compete". I guess to be satisfied with Destiny you need to be willing to repeat 1 to 2 steps ad nauseam.

Zero keys zero L.... 10k blue engram all weekend grind total BS
-
Do you feel better now that you got that off your chest.
-
Same here
-
wow. hasn't even been released. already judged it
-
9 keys, 8 legendary engrams. RNG loves me. 😍
