Well we didn't actually evolve from apes. Apes and Humans evolved from a common more human ape thing ancestor. we adapted to our environments differently. I like to think that this group of will be humans started to learn how to use simple tools, then started to walk on two legs. From there they advanced much faster then the basically the same as them will be Apes at the time.
