Because if you honestly dont think its real it'll affect who you vote for. If some jackwagon politician wants to deny it because x reason, even if that reason is wrong, he may get support to be elected

Yeah and I hate that. It's such a cop-out to not have a platform on real agendas. Everyone is just looking to side with a hot topic issue that the elected official won't do anything about.
