For the same reason people don't believe in Global warming. You can get world leaders who say Global warming is nothing, and uneducated people will vote for them. Our planet would become a shit hole.

Yeah and I hate that. It's such a cop-out to not have a platform on real agendas. Everyone is just looking to side with a hot topic issue that the elected official won't do anything about.
