I get what you're saying, but I reckon "love" is not really a catalyst for causing destruction. A racist who hates one race of people may love killing them, that is to say, takes pleasure in causing their suffering. Usually the emotions behind that are not as simple as love for causing suffering or hatred of those who are the victims of that suffering. The emotions behind it are usually anger, pain, or fear or all three. I can't think of one example where love was the catalyst of destruction without some kind of anger, fear or emotional pain having been the catalyst.
