Any gun should be able to put down 'top' players within a few shots. The main reason the thorn is overused is because of the ar nerf. I remember a time post patch that thorn still wasnt used, and when the ar's were hit, the cheap suros users jumped to the thorn because it was the second most powerful weapon. The 'plz nerf' threads jumped from suros to thorn.
If you nerf thorn, tlw will be complained about. And then the read death after that. Becase there are so many op guns (mainly due to the fact that most guns arent bad) that after a whole we will see 'nerf nlb because it can one ahot' and then a 'berf nechrochasm too op' will start popping up.

This. Destiny PvP is designed yo have some guns better than others so you have to work and take your best year to the fight. People seem to forget that.

Outside of iron banner, people still use other guns. I see three little words almost and much as thorn. But in IB where victory is the only way to move forward, using the best guns for the map size is the strongest plan. When trials comes out, i see shotguns and snipers being heavily used and thorn/scout rifles will take the lead. And for the new HOW maps, they appear to have vertical movement and long range encounters. This will hurt thorn, as while some complain of its range, most players arent that proficient with long range thorn. MIDA and red death will be used more often. The problem isnt the guns everyone. Its the map layouts.
