Disagree. The weapon cannot be blamed for poor timing, lack of gun skill, and bad positioning. If you got beat by Thorn, you got outplayed. Plain and simple.
Let me explain.
First, you had to put yourself in a venerable position for the Thorn user to hit you. You must put yourself in a good position to win the fight, which obviously you didn't because your dead. Thorn can't hit from behind a wall, stay in cover.
Then, the Thorn user had to manipulate your position to where he can kill you. Thorn doesn't shoot by itself, nor does it find enemies for you. The Thorn user had to make a situation where he can either ambush you or be in a good position to win the firefight. So to say it doesn't take skill to use is outrageous.
Then the Thorn user had to actually kill you. Both avoiding your bullets and landing shots on you. How can Thorn be blamed for that? How can you blame Thorn for you being outplayed?
There's one thing people can't deny: [i]Had you played better, you would have won the firefight. If you lost, you obviously did something wrong.[/i] Not to be a douche, but just fix it next time you engage the Thorn user. It's really that simple, all you have to do is [i]play better.[/i] You don't poop gold. You aren't perfect. You made a mistake, so don't make that mistake again.
I personally have beaten Thorn with Mida Multi tool as well as other weapons at various ranges. And pretty much every primary exotic that isn't an auto rifle or no land beyond is powerful enough to kill Thorn in a reasonable amount of time.
Bungie shouldn't cater to the bad players any longer. They cannot baby you anymore. The problem [i]is[/i] you. Not the weapon. Grow up and take responsibility and stop asking to nerf people's hard earned weapon.

Bullshit. If you wanted balance you'd be petitioning to buff auto rifles, not destroy one gun. Auto rifles severely underperform from every other weapon class. [i]There's[/i] the imbalance.

So let me just paraphrase what you said 1. You have to be in a good position/ hiding I don't want to hide from thorn users all day 2. They have to get a good position That just means they have to walk over to where they can shoot you 3. They have to outgunned you At least half the deaths I have to thorn I do outgun them but the dot kills me. I've used thorn, the aim assist and fire rate is WAY to high

So what you're saying is you'd rather be lazy and complain instead of growing as a player and overcoming and defeating the people who use thorn. Thorn probably is overpowered, but it is not unbeatable. You just don't want to commit yourself to becoming a better player to win. Thorn users are using an aspect of the game that gives them an advantage. A true testament of skill is being able to counter that advantage.

That doesn't negate my point though. The people complaining need to stop creating rules and regulations for PvP when they do not exist. People can and will use thorn to give themselves the advantage so they can win. It is a part of the game and they are right in doing so. The main objective is to get kills and win. Why not make that task simple and use the gun that gives kills easily? It is your job, and everybody else's job to find the counter to the overpowered situation. Bungie nerfing it only ruins another gun and gives rise to the next "OP" weapon. Nerfing is NOT a solution. Becoming a better player is.

I don't have fun using or playing against thorn. You don't get anything special for doing good in PvP. Why hinder others experiences if it doesn't benefit anyone

It isn't fun to use anymore. You guys hindered MY experience. Why are you playing PvP if you don't want to challenge yourself? If all you want to do is have fun then who cares if thorn kills you? Go in with no goal and play recklessly. If you want to win though, then you are going to have to accept that people will always find the most efficient way to obtain victory in any game and you need to be able to counter it. If thorn is nerfed then it will be easily replaced by another weapon.

I get your point, I think if they just turned the aim assist down a bit so you actually have to pay attention to where you shoot I'd be fine with it

Hmm I disagree. Just look at the reverse situation. While competing against thorn one must be clever and diligent, as you said using cover, retreating and other tactical manoeuvres..... But on the flip side the thorn user can disregard tactics and just whale on someone. If their opponent doesn't back up they die, at best they can trade. Thorn couples the fastest fire rate(excluding fan fire) with the minimum number of shots to kill as a guarantee. If a player does decide to use strategy, then obtain and overwhelming advantage as hand cannons lend themselves to pop shots. And since thorn only need two pop shots it's has a huge advantage. Last but not least it requires minimum commitment in gun fights. Much less than auto rifles, pulse rifles etc But don't get me wrong I like thorn I used it before the patch and only don't use it now because I've simply moved on. But to say that it's not overpowered is silly. If it were me I'd use the "it's effective that's why I use it" argument
