To all those 'thorn is not OP' posts.
You guys always say its not the gun, but its the player's fault. I disagree. This gun can put the best crucible player to the ground with 2 headshots. This gun IS overpowered and you thorners just don't want it nerfed.
If you want to flame me for not being good in crucible, go ahead. Idc, my skill is higher than yours anyway. I still have to see an flamer with a higher kd here...
Edit: all these scrubs flaming don't want their thorn nerfed.... ;)
Edit: most of you guys could only whine about 'lucky' headshots, so i changed that.
Yet another Edit: i'm not saying that the thorn owns me, i outgun them 80% of the time. But that doesn't take away the fact that its too powerful. A simple stability or range nerf should suffice.

7 RepliesI want the Thorn Nerfed as well. Hell. I want All the guns Nerfed in terms of how much damage they take to kill. Hand cannons are Supposed to drop quicker than the rest aside from shotgun and fusion But the 2 hit kill is rediculous. It's like a Hardcore Gun slipped into a Core game type, and of course it's going to be abused. So how do you Fix the guns? Like this! First off, they need to provide a Hardcore mode Period! Then Everything will be deadly as the Thorn and No Nerfing or Buffing required. Second, for all the rest. Hand Cannons should take 5 Headshots to Kill! Thorn 4 (with the Burn it makes it closer to 3) and The Last Word should have to land 5 out of 8 rounds in the Head for a Kill. Hawkmoon? Make it 4 hit kill (also like 3 or even 2) because Sometimes those lucky bullets Will Work. Now, Auto Rifles. Perks Aside. They should be 10 bullets to kill, period! Impact? Make it play a Minor role in Damage. MINOR. Problem solved. Pulse Rifles? You Know they are ok Finally. Moving on. Fusion Rifles. ... used to be a Big user. They Still seem to kill When Used. So moving on. Shotguns. Yes. Felwinters kills Hard! As I Understand it though, their is a Range Cap and Only it can reach that max most of the time due to Rolls. It's Fine! And Universal Remote and Range Finder are the Only ways to go past that Range limit, but Universal is Exotic and justified in that while the rest will lose Tight Shot Package to get higher range and will take 2 shots to kill. Snipers? Make the kill boxes slightly higher for all. Done Machine Guns. Should. NEVER be Out Gunned by Thorn! Or Any gun besides a Rocket Launcher. 3 bullet Kill! Rockets. Ha! Moving on. And That will Fix Crucible! Throw in a Slightly longer Spawn Timer as well so that their requires More Strategy to win at Control etc. And for Hell Sake Add Kill Cams! And Final Kill Cams!

2 RepliesComparing its ttk with other primaries and even heavy hmgs and with a consistent & high ease of use... Uve got to be straight up stupid to not notice how broken it is after using it. Guns like these don't belong in the crucible which make many other guns a complete joke, why screw over many players when u can't counter easy to use guns with fast ttks effectively Take into account the average ttks with ease of use. The rest should be on the player which isn't the case at all

Ridiculous that people don't see how good this gun is. Why are [b]so many[/b] people using Thorn if it's [i]not[/i] the most effective gun in crucible right now? Most players are using it because of how good it actually is.

3 RepliesSo when the thorn is no longer "OP" you'll die extremely less than you do now? To warrant such a change it would have to shift the balance of these players claiming its OP. I'm not a thorn user at all. Its sitting there with zero XP. I can't complain that I'm killed. Funny thing is people have claimed the Vex, Last Word, Shotguns, Thorn, Fusion Rifles, Auto Rifles, and Hawkmoon are OP. I'm sure the list goes on. What would you rather your opponents use?

Primary problem with the weapon is the perfect balance perk. That's what allows it to be spammed. A Timurs can two shot, but it's not spamable due to lower RoF and low stability. Most common kill I've seen with thorn is the 3 shot kill spam. It's easy to see thorn bullet trails so watch for it. Now with the weapon if you remove perfect balance, then there is no reason to also nerf the RoF as a high RoF low stability build essentially has an anti noob filter on it. If you went the other way and lowered RoF, then perfect stability would be worthless due to the weapon automatically resettling before the next shot is possible. This would also just result in all those players switching to TLW and doing the same thing.

I highly believe that its true skill that puts you above someone else. Most less skilled players complain about things that they get killed by. When TLW was for sale everyone complained, same was with red death. If you're targeting a specific gun, you're getting killed allot by it. Use your surroundings for cover and out play your opponent. Learn to be skilled and play the game. There are other guns that are OP and yet you don't point them out. I suggest to play smarter.

Once you get the feel for thorn and TLW, you can own every match. I use the triggers while using TLW for trigger fire and I can cross map with it. And with thorn its a 2 shot headshot. Both need a nerf, even though I love them.

These are pistols, not sniper rifles. More than anything though, I just want bungie to actually balance the weapons. I'm sick of this flavor of the month crap where one or two guns are stronger than all the others. Just balance the -blam!-ing weapons.

1 ReplyIn my opinion all hand cannons are OP.. It also seem there is cycle here. First it was auto rifles which got nerd. Now not many use them. Then he fusion rifle got needed. All I know a hand cannon should not beat a sniper at range. Then again no one will truly be happy no matter what is done.
