To all those 'thorn is not OP' posts.
You guys always say its not the gun, but its the player's fault. I disagree. This gun can put the best crucible player to the ground with 2 headshots. This gun IS overpowered and you thorners just don't want it nerfed.
If you want to flame me for not being good in crucible, go ahead. Idc, my skill is higher than yours anyway. I still have to see an flamer with a higher kd here...
Edit: all these scrubs flaming don't want their thorn nerfed.... ;)
Edit: most of you guys could only whine about 'lucky' headshots, so i changed that.
Yet another Edit: i'm not saying that the thorn owns me, i outgun them 80% of the time. But that doesn't take away the fact that its too powerful. A simple stability or range nerf should suffice.

Edit: Damn this post has been bashed on. The hate is real! I'm just putting down my opinion and some facts, get over it. Also, my skill actually has nothing to do with the stats of the thorn, its crazy right?

They need to either reduce the burn amount of dot or have it cancel if you kill the thorn user. for you can easily spam it to the body for 3 shots for a easy kill or just hit them twice in the body and forget them and let the burn damage do enough that when someone else kills them you get an easy assist every time. I use the thorn when ever i do the 50 assist bounty and it is cheap doing so but so easy to do.

Doesn't Hawkmoon kill in 2 headshots? What about the last word? I know it's got an insane fire rate/accuracy ratio. At least with Thorn the burn allows you a chance to live after the hit.

I don't play much PVP but, started playing the IB a little this week. I don't find the thorn to be any more OP than any other weapon. I experimented with plenty of guns this past weekend since I don't ever play pvp. I used the thorn, hawkmoon, MIDA, suros, TLW, red death, and even tried the vex. The handcannons for the most part, including thorn, took at least 3 rounds to kill. I landed several headshots on players in a row before they died so I don't think it was an OP monster but, it was nice for the poison to do a little extra damage while they were behind cover. The rifles all took multiple shots to take a player down. The only weapon that I found truly op was the IB shotgun. That is a sniper with shotgun ammo. The other thing that I found truly ridiculous was how people could out jump a super or couldn't kill a blade dancer or warlock using radiance. They took ridiculous amounts of damage and still managed to kill you before dying. Minus some people using lag switches or "lag to their advantage" and a few that had a super the entire game it wasn't that much different than any other PVP game I have ever played.

The real problem about Thorn is once you get shot by it the other person immediately has he advantage because his health will regen a lot sooner than yours because you'll be burning for about 5 seconds.

Range nerf Less fire rate. Sounds fair to me :) Remember how [b]Red Death[/b] was a 2burst headshot kill? It was a gun that was amazing in the right hands. Now everyone uses it

9 RepliesI agree and disagree I think thorn should be nerfed but from a range aspect and not damage the farther you're out the less damage u do if thorn can beat a guy with a scout rifle at scout range in 3 shots or less then ur wrong.

The worst opponent in PvP still is Lag for me. I hate it when shots don't register, especially with handcannons where every hit in a duel counts

I took down plenty of thorn ib players just fine. Some matches/maps were better than others. I don't feel it needs to be needed, but I also think all exotics should feel OP. They're the best weapons in the game supposedly. There Might be balance issues, but people seriously need to stop calling for diminishing the power of exotics
