To all those 'thorn is not OP' posts.
You guys always say its not the gun, but its the player's fault. I disagree. This gun can put the best crucible player to the ground with 2 headshots. This gun IS overpowered and you thorners just don't want it nerfed.
If you want to flame me for not being good in crucible, go ahead. Idc, my skill is higher than yours anyway. I still have to see an flamer with a higher kd here...
Edit: all these scrubs flaming don't want their thorn nerfed.... ;)
Edit: most of you guys could only whine about 'lucky' headshots, so i changed that.
Yet another Edit: i'm not saying that the thorn owns me, i outgun them 80% of the time. But that doesn't take away the fact that its too powerful. A simple stability or range nerf should suffice.

Basically if it didnt have the poison effect absolutely no one would use it , the poison is why it is such a scruby weapon & it requires pretty much no skill at all, other "OP" weapons such as hawkmoon or vex still require skill , the hawkmoon has a slow fire rate & unless you get a headshot or one of the random bonus bullets it needs 3 shots to kill & the vex is a CQC weapon it has almost no effect at range even TLW requires skill as it usually takes 6 shots to down an opponent or you have to hip fire for the head. The thorn is dirty & cheap , if it was nerfed the number of players with a positive K/D would be cut in half. & before anyone says it i do own a thorn & i dont use it as i do not suck.

Who is really going to get 2 headshots and run away. They can still kill you. I always 3 shot with thorn just so they die quick. Also: [spoiler]hawkmoon is better[/spoiler]

22 RepliesHello, If you complain about the thorn and believe it needs nerfing, you are delusional. Your ego simply has to blame anything and everything but your lack of skills so you blame the thorn. If you think thorn ruins the game, go to college and some funding and create a game without the thorn in it. If you have earned a thorn and an enemy is wielding it then simply switch to your thorn and go one vs one with them. The skilled player will prevail. If you havent got a thorn to equip then i suggest you get good enough to complete the bounty. I have never seen so many delusional cry babies congregate in one corner of the internet than on here. If it was a game breaker you really think that the developers who show cased trials would let it slip? Theyd decimate every single one of you cry babies with or without it. The big dude with a beard who looked like something from hobbit was using a mida tool! A mida! And still pwning the testers. Triplewreck was using thorn and getting beat. Its a highly competitive game and you silly spoilt cry babies screaming for nerfs are ruining a game that is perfectly fine. Nerf your lack of skill and nerf your spoilt attitudes and get on with the game or go play cod where all guns are the same. I welcome tears, i welcome hate. Half of your deaths are from one gun wtf it must be overpowered.... no it's because everyone is using it so of course most of your deaths will be from that gun. Can you believe people were begging for a suros regime nerf a while back? That gun was not overpowered but everyone was using it so it seemed like all your deaths were from one gun. I don't use thorn and I don't complain about it either

I have the thorn and know it's OP. You shouldn't be out sniping snipers with the thorn. People just camp with it and profit. The range is ridiculous.

its my favorite gun.. and yeah.. it is op.. it should be.. its an exotic.. BUT.. is it more OP than TLW or the Vex or Hawkmoon or RedDeath? Naahh.. i dont think so..

This is absolutely true because when I use my thorn I am almost always at the top of the leaderboard. But when I use a different gun I am the one who has to be outplaying the other guy who has the thorn a lot and then look at the leaderboard only to see that the people using Red death and Thorn are stealing my thunder.[spoiler]except sometimes I some how carry my team with an auto rifle and immediately face palm at anyone on my team[/spoiler]

Funny thing all the folks saying don't nerf, it's not overpowered, are usually the ones using it almost every game. I have it and I use it occasionally. It's easy mode. It will get nerfed. But not because people bitch about it on the forums. It will be because Bungie will look at all their stats and see the over use and reliance on it and TLW and go after it. The abusers will then bitch about all those calling for nerfs but won't look in the mirror. Same thing happened to Suros Regime. My hope is when they do hit them it's not as bad as what they did to Suros.

I use the thorn a lot....mainly because I know its currently OP. Yes this weapons needs to be adjusted. Just a minor tweak really. The DOT should not be enough to kill after 2 HS. so 2 HS plus DOT should not be a kill. Now 2 HS (with one of the shots being the final round perk) + DOT should be enough to kill. So that is the balancing point that needs to be shot for. It could then 2 HS kill if all the perks align (just like the hawkmoon) but otherwise its a 3 shot kill with the DOT being a mechanism of delaying regeneration not a mechanism of killing your enemy.

I agree is powerful gun but I think is your reward if you did all the bounty cause is a pain in the rear to do, but you can still fight back there is the red death is the option plus regenerate your health wend you are about die from poison
