To all those 'thorn is not OP' posts.
You guys always say its not the gun, but its the player's fault. I disagree. This gun can put the best crucible player to the ground with 2 headshots. This gun IS overpowered and you thorners just don't want it nerfed.
If you want to flame me for not being good in crucible, go ahead. Idc, my skill is higher than yours anyway. I still have to see an flamer with a higher kd here...
Edit: all these scrubs flaming don't want their thorn nerfed.... ;)
Edit: most of you guys could only whine about 'lucky' headshots, so i changed that.
Yet another Edit: i'm not saying that the thorn owns me, i outgun them 80% of the time. But that doesn't take away the fact that its too powerful. A simple stability or range nerf should suffice.

4 RepliesWith the nerfs to range and accuracy the Hand Cannons received, it can be difficult to land those headshots even from mid-range. This is coming from someone who has Thorn, but pretty much doesn't use it in Crucible in favor of trying different things. That and I can avoid the thorn pretty well. Use Suros or Red Death (usually Red Death) to counteract it.

People just need to accept that all guns can appear OP in the right hands. Just get on with it and enjoy the game without bitching about other peoples tactics & weapon choices. I get shot loads of times by all kinds of different weapons (I'm crap at pvp), but just get on with it.

I do NOT think Thorn is OP simply because there are plenty of other exotics that can beat it out such as: The Last Word, Hawkmoon, Vex Mythoclast, Red Death, etc. Were it not for the auto rifle nerf, Suros Regime would also be up there simply because its healing perk can nullify the DoT that comes with Thorn's Mark of the Devourer. Most of my deaths in Iron Banner come more often from special weapons, heavy weapons, supers, melee, grenades or other exotic primaries. Very rarely did I ever bleed out because of a Thorn user. Now before you blindly accuse me of being a Thorn user in PvP, I do NOT use Thorn. I use TLW or Red Death in the Crucible with the former being a LOT less accurate than Thorn. So yes, it's not the weapon, it's the person using the weapon.

3 RepliesAny gun should be able to put down 'top' players within a few shots. The main reason the thorn is overused is because of the ar nerf. I remember a time post patch that thorn still wasnt used, and when the ar's were hit, the cheap suros users jumped to the thorn because it was the second most powerful weapon. The 'plz nerf' threads jumped from suros to thorn. If you nerf thorn, tlw will be complained about. And then the read death after that. Becase there are so many op guns (mainly due to the fact that most guns arent bad) that after a whole we will see 'nerf nlb because it can one ahot' and then a 'berf nechrochasm too op' will start popping up.

Id even be willing to bet you people complaining run a shotgun in secondary as well.

Before this game came out, I had a six figure salary, beautiful wife, three kids, and I owned my own home. I even had a dog. Fast forward 8 months, my only job is playing Destiny. I lost my job because I told my boss that she could take more explosions to the face than Valus Taurc. My wife you ask? She left me for a "real" man who could solo Crota on Hard. My children? I sold them to buy the Season Pass and a lifetime supply of Mountain Dew. I think I regret it. The only thing I have left is my dog, who I bought an Xbox for so we could run strikes together. It's not working out. She just shits on the controller. My advice? Get out while you can. This game will ruin your life.

I completely agree with you. Two shots is ridiculous and the range is not on a reasonable level. I've been killed multiple times from sniper/scout rifle range and it just doesn't make sense to me. They either need to get rid of the DOT perk or reduce the range.

3 RepliesDude, it's not so easy to get those 2 head shots. Thorn kicks like a mule. I can often beat Thorn users with the last word or three little words. Sometimes even my un-upgraded suros. I don't see it as being that OP. Any more than a very skilled player already would be. I bet most Thorn users could do as good or better with Timur's Lash. Probably also Hawkmoon, for those that have access to it.
