Bungie said in their weekly update that the Crucible maps from The Dark Below will "become the domain of all" and be added to the rotation for regular Crucible playlists.
I have to wonder; does this mean they will grant access for these maps to EVERYONE, rather than just those who purchased the DLC? Or will it be like it was in Halo, where you only get to play the maps if you happen to be matched with others who have them?
I bought the Season Pass, and I have to say, if they were to unlock The Dark Below's Crucible maps for everyone... I'd be cool with that. So long as I get to play the maps more often, sure; give them to all manner of penniless and thrifty bastards alike.

The maps were crap besides shy shock so y not
-
I have to say it makes me wonder how many parts of the game will be included in the future. What happens when Destiny 2 comes out? Is all the stuff we've paid for going to be free? Kinda makes we want to wait for the final release rather than grinding it out piecemeal.
-
The maps blow anyways
-
Just the maps! Nothing else!
-
I like the idea of having those maps in the normal rotation. It will be easier to get games on those maps and it will add new stuff to IB. I'm guessing that they will use some of them for Trials of Osiris, and that is why they are adding them. Of course they will likely add HoW maps to Trials as well, making it locked out certain weeks for players that do not own the DLC. Think of it as you were just renting exclusive content for a while.
-
I would feel ripped off, but at the same time the real value of the dlc's lie in expanding what little story we get. Personally, I want more variety in control because it gets boring getting connected to Rusted Lands over and over again. I don't mind at all. The more maps the better, I don't click on the dark below exclusive crucible icons anyways so I'll finally feel like I'm getting my money's worth from that aspect.
-
I hate all the dlc maps. I don't want them in the rotation. That's why I don't want the maps given out.
-
At HoW drop, all the maps from "The Dark Below" will be added to the crucible rotation no matter if you have the expansion or not.
-
I figure it will add some more variety to modes available to everyone. I was actually a bit disappointed when I realized the DLC playlist was JUST DLC maps. Just think, three more maps added to Iron Banner. Remember when there were 3 maps and it was the same one half the time? Also, I didn't pay for new Crucible maps. I paid for new PvE content and it just happened to come with the new maps. (In my opinion)
-
I agree with you on being cool with it - I cannot fathom what the big fuss on the forums is over a fairly trivial item - you paid ~$20 for TDB content and got just that.. the fact that a small piece of the 'locked' content is (after a 6 month wait) being made available to everyone shouldn't bother you. They haven't announced that the raid strikes or even the story missions are being made available to everyone so what is the big deal?
-
Sure! Let everyone have them. They aren't much better anyway.
-
They shouldn't get it. What's next Crota for free? I'll just wait for HoW to become free in a few months and not bother buying it them
-
I don't like any of the dark below's pvp maps. I say give them it.
-
Yeah if they didn't match making would just take longer and longer each dlc
-
Communist
-
After my season pass expires they can do what ever they want.
-
While I don't care too much they could have simply matched you against other people who paid for the maps as opposed to giving it out free. Dunno why they were their own playlist. I love the maps (skyshock not included).
-
I REALLY think they should open the Omnigul strike to everyone as well. I would be pissed if I was missing out on the Nightfall over the DLC.
-
Since HoF is around the corner, I see no fuzz in letting dark bellow maps become free.
-
Saying that people should have to pay full price for these DLC maps that have been out for a while is like saying people should pay full price for FIFA, NHL, or MADDEN 12.
-
Yes, because then I'll actually get to play them.
-
Meh. It's just maps. Now the strikes and story mission, I'd be pissed. But it's just maps. I mean seriously. What's the issue?
-
Yeah why not, share the fun man. We had our time with it let the others also have Some fun. There are Some people who really cant afford dlcs and stuff like that and even buying a game is a hassle. So I dont mind, had my "exclusive" fun, Now they can join in. And iTS better for us! The rotation of maps becomes more fun, because of more maps.
-
I avoid the DLC maps solely because of -blam!-ing skyshock. The odds of getting that POS map will be greatly reduced once they're in the normal rotation. Which means I get to play the other DLC maps without running into skyshock every 2 games. Win for me
-
Give them the multiplayer maps, but only that. Let us keep our story missions and strikes.
-
They are maps that suck. Give them the maps for all I care
