I'm pretty sure that a permanent change can happen if the environment permanently changed.
Also, you say that the bible already says that a god created humankind.
a) Abiogenesis is different from evolution.
b) There is literally no evidence for that.

Evidence: (1) We exist. (2) Intelligence exists. (3)The Laws of Thermodynamics exist. (4) Complicated biology can't manifest from simpler beginnings.
