I learned long ago to never try and bring up the real history of America on forums. Certain groups of people can't handle it and rage. Most people don't even know history, and even fewer know more than just the biased American version of events that is taught in our schools. People don't like to admit that the majority of Native Americans were killed off, it's much more comforting to say that they all just disappeared, ran away to places unknown, or died of some "random" plague that had nothing to do with foreigners invading their land. The only time we ever mention other countries and cultures in our history classes is if we had them as enemies or allies in wars; then we wonder why our kids grow up ignorant about other cultures and countries around the world. I'm an American and I like this country, but I can't help but laugh sometimes at our hypocrisy. I'm sure this will cause rage, I usually don't say things like this on forums to avoid the drama lol
