Yeah except destiny has strikes, raids, story, pvp, public events, and player interaction. Mortal Kombat is literally stand and fight ONE dude no matter how you break it down its a ridiculous amount of repetition.

Destiny doesn't have much of a story but its still a million times better than mortal Kombat's (win thus tournament and save the world has gotten a but redundant 10 times over)
