I completely agree with everything you said Sergeant. I love my country deeply, but we have lost our ways in practice, and we need to get back to that. But, I won't be told that I should go live somewhere else just because I don't like the way things are. I try to make a difference in the lives of the people around me and that's the only thing I have control of.

  • I don't think you should be told that either, nor do I agree with the current state of the country on all issues. However, if we are to lose hope on all of our values and principles, how can we expect this country to improve. If people need inspiration or a reason to keep faith in their country, it will never help to see the people that have fought for it degrading what it has represented since it's independence.

  • Well, I really think we are on the same page about all of this. A lot of the replies seem to get placed in the wrong spots so maybe you thought I was going in at someone else. My initial post I legitimately wanted the person to provide the reasons they are proud. That wasn't me saying there is *nothing* to be proud of, I just wanted to see if they could provide a thought out response instead of just saying "you don't like it, then get out". Personally, I am proud of all the people that try to make an actual difference instead of just saying "well it's bad everywhere so why should I even try?"
