I'm not saying this is the best country in the world, but honestly if you're "ashamed" to be an American then get the fûck out. I live in Miami, FL and this is the kind of shit that makes me hate this city. So many Hispanics that came here as refugees that live off the government, don't identify as American, and don't bother to learn English. You want to live here and reap the benefits then shut the fûck up. If you want to whine then why don't you go back to whatever country your ancestors came from. We don't need or want you here. I'm proud to be American regardless of the bad rep that we get.

Yeah, immigrants that were proud to call this place their home and eager to assimilate into American society. Not contribute absolutely nothing, expect everyone to cater to them, and then complain about the mistakes our leadership has made, all while collecting benefits my tax dollars pay for.

Not once did I say [b]all[/b] Hispanics are like that. I'm just using the example that I find most prevalent in my city. I'm sure there are other racial groups that behave in this manor. My comment of gtfo was directed at the people who claim to be "ashamed" to be American, despite living here and reaping the benefits. If you were capable of simple deductive reasoning I wouldn't have had to explain this.

Every country has made countless mistakes throughout its history. Would you rip on a guy proud to be from Germany even though they were responsible for one of the largest genocides in human history? No. Would you rip on someone from an African nation that senselessly slaughtered their own people or sold them into slavery? No. America's bad reputation is because we have quite a few people here that are stupid and overweight (which I am neither). I have traveled all over the world, having visited every continent minus Antarctica and there is honestly nowhere I would rather live. I grew up 3 miles outside New York City. I watched those towers fall with my own eyes (I was in 8th grade at the time). Sorry if my sense of patriotism is a little stronger than your average American.
