I'm American. But I can't stand flag wavers.
You should check out our rules concerning our flag. There's lots of "interesting" rules about displaying and having an American flag.

Oh god I'm english and we have our fare share of crazy laws most are 1000 years old though and had some relevance at some point. Did you know a policeman is obligated to let a pregnant women wee in is hat if she asks, I'm guessing if I hold / fold / display the American flag in the "wrong" way I'll get lynched ?

Lol. That's funny about peeing in the police hat. You won't be prosecuted or anything. The rules exist but are never enforced unless you're at a government or military facility. Few that I can remember: Can't be flown at night unless properly lit Can't ever touch the ground Always has to be with the Stars portion in the upper left unless on a vehicle If displayed with another flag, the other flag has to be lower. Only flags of another country can be flow at the same height. It's sort of cool when you see military flag ceremonies. Give you a sense of patriotism. But public places usually send the janitor to raise the flag.

Has to be properly lit at night ? It's not a vehicle what diffrence would it make, can never touch the ground just makes me imagine a group of generals frantacly chase a loose flag around on a windy day. If I was in the american military I'd just troll people with all those rules. I'll give you one more crazy british law although I can't remember it exactly An Englishman can legally shoot a Welshman with a bow and arrow at 30 yards blind folded on the 5th Sunday off the month before noon
