Yeah they gave us blink and a sword doesn't mean they intended us to cheese the bridge encounter. If you use logic you can discern that trying to snipe enemies that can't shoot you back in your advantages position probably isn't the way bungie intended you to win this "fight."

Except that's how sniper rifles are always meant to be used; swords generally aren't used to fly through the air and despawn enemies.
