The absence of evidence isnot evidence of absence

Edited by Masque of Night: 4/22/2015 3:13:42 AMI've seen someone post this before. Again, it doesn't completely dismiss the notion of alien life. It suggests that there might not be, but it also offers explanations as to why we are yet to find any if they are out there somewhere. And remember, it doesn't have to be an advanced form of life. Alien life classifies as any form of life not originally from this planet, whether it be an advanced race beyond our comprehension, or a simplistic species of basic bacterial cells.
-
I'm not saying that life doesn't exist but why haven't we even gotten any hints
-
Probably because any extremely advanced alien species has no interest in interacting with a primitive race of beings who spend about as much time trying to advance themselves as they do killing each other or just trying to maintain peace. They'd have nothing to really gain from bothering with us, and even if they chose to for research purposes or something along those lines, they'd probably do so in a way that wouldn't draw attention or would simply observe us from afar.
-
I'm dead serious when I say that's too logical to make sense
-
Just think of it this way, if it makes sense to us, it'd sure as hell make sense to them.
-
That seems like too correct of an answer though "human" condition calls for minor flaws which that plan doesn't present
-
*shrugs* There's probably a multitude of reasons, if you put in the time to think about it. I'm not really concerned, we'll hear from 'em if we hear from 'em. Regardless of whether we do or not, eventually we'll have to leave this rock to explore the others floating around in space. Perhaps we'll find something new farther along...or maybe not, i'll be long dead by then either way. lol

Edited by Britton: 4/22/2015 3:09:18 AMIts only a paradox if you underestimate how vast our galaxy is, and over estimate how advanced we are.
-
If life has existed in the universe we cannot be the most advanced due to our shot timespan, therefore someone or something must have also tried to communicate and if so why haven't we gotten any messages
-
Edited by Britton: 4/22/2015 3:18:51 AMThis is linked in the article I linked. Basically your underestimating how vast our universe is. http://www.extremetech.com/extreme/169985-humanitys-infinitesimally-tiny-influence-on-the-universe-or-why-we-havent-met-any-aliens-yet
