Can someone please explain soul memory to me please, because being a Dark Souls player it just seems weird.

It is a stupid mechanic designed to keep less skilled players from being taken advantage of by certain players. Those players being the ones that make a low lvl build then only invade early game areas. Basically your actual level does not matter anymore, matchmaking is based on soul memory instead. I had a character at level 135 on my 360 with 15 million soul memory, because of that I would almost always get matched against people in the 300-400 range when I was invading or being invaded.

WTF........ Where the heck does it list this soul memory? And is this on the one or 360 or heaven fprbid both systems!?!?!

It's on both systems, when you are in you character stat page it is the top right corner stat. Luckily they did add a ring for the Xbox one version that will block you from gaining anymore souls while you're wearing it. You can buy the ring from an npc named straid.

Hmmm need to find him, and what soul level are you both soul memory and stated level?

He is in the lost bastille, it will require a fragrant branch of yore to access him. In regards to the soul level soul memory deal, I'm not entirely sure how it works or what the matchmaking gaps are.

I found a good thing on a wiki pertaining to soul memory. And I'll have to look up where to find that guy. Also know of any good boss soul weapons that are worth the soul? Have a ton but have no idea what to use for souls and what to use for boss weapon.

Pursuer's UGS is pretty good. If you like massive weapons that is.

Hate that weapon when other people use it.

Straid is one of two npcs that can exchange a weapon or spell for boss souls. I've never used to many of them myself.

Uh why are you acting as if its a bad thing?.. I sure dont want some high lvl invading me while im trying to progress

Ok, sorry if I came off as hating it ( I don't and it really does seem to be an improvement) its just that the build and gear I currently have has been suited to gain as much souls as possible. So I may have to make another character if it is tooo high for the most traffic build.
