Depleted Hand Cannon Exotic Bounty
I honestly never sent bad feedbacks before. Because anything I've encountered, I could manage with even if it was near impossible hard.
But this actually made me want to write and stand up for all of those players who do no wish, want or care for pvp. The last step for Exotic Bounty Depleted Hand Cannon where you have to get 500 points from killing Guardians with Void Damage and death slows down the process is so ridiculous, that it is not even funny.
First of, out of 3 classes, only 1 can utilize class skills that could kill with void and that is a Warlock on Voidwalker subclass. Hunters have no void subclass and Titan's void skills are for defense.
Second, the weapons you can use with void damage are so limited that the only ones you have void damage are special and heavy weapons. You always start without heavy ammo and only a single ammo clip for special.
I am sorry to say it Bungie, but that step in acquiring Thorn was a bad decision. It needs to be adjusted. If you are so persistent on selling pvp for Destiny, that's fine. However, don't make it so ridiculously impossible that those players who hate, despise and stay a world's away from pvp that it would make us hate pvp even more. I honestly feel having a better luck of waiting for Xur to sell the gun or get it a drop before I will ever be able to complete this bounty on either of my two characters.
If you want to ask me what would I suggest to change it to? I would suggest removing void damage requirement for kills, or change it so that death does not take any points away from progression of this bounty.

Having trouble with this too. I'm not a big pvp'er so it's hard for me to keep getting the points and not not lose some and I can only play a few hours a week late at night. And I've never raided before so void primaries are a no go for me. I'm looking to get some people in a rumble match that have the thorn bounty and get our void kills up I'm on xbox one my gt is same as above

I just finished mine. I thought I would never get it (I got the bounty on a hunter) so I kept it hoping to get a void primary and ended getting Atheon's Epilogue in the VOG. It took two days of having a steady k/d above 1.0 to get it. Probably around six hours in the crucible doing control matches. I just held key positions and took out anyone who came my direction. I managed to get a 5 kill spree or two every other match. I may have been at the bottom of the scoreboard but I managed to come out every match in the positive. Albeit I quit one match cause I lost ten points right off the bat but hey ship happens.

First, Titan skills are plenty offensive. Grenades and Force Barrier are great ways to score Void kills. Second, grab yourself one of the two Void primaries (I recommend the Word of Crota) and it won't be so hard.

Getting the Thorn now after the Auto Rifle nerfs, making Atheons Epilogue almost useless and TLW Giveaway Week with Xur, makes it ridiculously hard to grind. Even with a Voidwalker Warlock, with Atheons Epilogue, The Chosen and A Void Exodus Rocketlauncher, I still barely gain 10 or so points a match. It's just so hard with the pea shooter, the lag, the lack of special ammo and heavy ammo, lag switchers and hand cannons of death everywhere now.

People have to EARN thorn. Its as simple as that. Its a very hard exotic to get and for a reason just like the vex gun is hard to get for reason to.

I am not a fan of pvp, nor do I consider myself good at it, but using word of crota (a void primary which you say doesn't exist) it took me 4 hours of actually trying to get that bounty done. And like many people on this thread keep repeating, it's an exotic bounty, it shouldn't just be given to you easily

Would be better with a warlock for its void powers. It was a pain at the end at summoning pits but my raid buddy and I did it real fast just he and I. Keep at it, its not that impossible man.

Edited by Parzival: 4/28/2015 6:26:22 PMit's an exotic weapon bounty. it shouldn't be like completing 1 patrol mission. it should be a challenge. it's much more rewarding this way. if you think this part is hard, just wait till you have to do the last strike part. i couldn't do it alone b/c i hate PvE strikes. but i suck it up and do it b/c the thorn is awesome. anywho, i just got my second bounty with my titan last night and am already up to 112/500 in just a couple of matches. i have a void sniper, void heavy machine and atheon's epiologue... if you're a PvE, you should have gotten atheon's epilogue or something from crota by now. my word of crota is also void. i pick the defensive titan and use void nades. so everything except shoulder charge should give me void points. anywho, add me if you get thru it b/c i'm gonna need help on the strike part which is much harder than the PvP part.

It's easy to do buddy, word of crota, truth and vog sniper/crota shotgun or plug one one void if you have it is your best bet. Don't go in hoping to finish it in one game just stay back and wait for the easier kills, balling in will just get you killed. Don't give up it is possible to finish....

They did reduce the points deducted once already. I used Atheons Epilogue. Now Word of Crota would be a good choice.

Its honestly not that hard to do. There are plenty of void weapons out there. Including the Word of CCrotaand Atheons Epilogue and if you have void special and void heavy preferably truth you will never have a problem because you will always have void doing damage. As long as you keep a positive kd you can get the bounty done. And its not the last step FYI There is one more step after which is immensely harder than the void kills.

Edited by Kwon24: 4/28/2015 11:19:50 AMI just finished this bounty; 2 days ago and after doing so my Hunter received the same missive; and Im already at 207 points; the trick is simple find InfernoControl it worked for me; My Warlock now has Thorn and my Hunter soon; unfortunately; time ran out for InfernoControl; no radar is your best friend; I simply stayed back and followed my enemies from behind; shoot them in the back with your Void weapon; Im waiting for another InfernoControl; why? opponents will be too busy trying to capture zones; and there's no radar; easy to get behind them. Adapt; that's what I did. Whining gets you nowhere. Oh and this isnt the last mission for the Bounty; you still have to beat Xyor. :P Good Luck.

Many, many, many posts have been put up by people complaining how unfair the Thorn bounty is. Yes it isn't easy and yes it does get infuriating trying to get those 500 void [b][i]damage[/i][/b] points, but it [b][u]can[/u][/b] be done by even those who suck at PVP. Just look at my crucible stats and when you realise that I've done the Thorn bounty 3 times, you will believe that you will suceed too. ;-)

What WILL make the game more fun is adding Skyrim styled quests like murder mysteries, puzzle solving, ghost stories, avenge old guardians, recover lost relics, long questlines, faction questlines, that type of thing. Or adding actual cities where we can explore and find an abundance of things to do and buy. Surely there have got to be some cities left in the galaxy, right? We need more npc's in the game with more stories to tell and much more lore. We need enough items in the game to have an auction house. Player housing would be awesome too. Flying our ships would be great as well. All great ideas, but no one talks about them. This game can evolve into a great mmo sandbox, or it can continue to be a linear fps game with some matchmaking. A little imagination goes a long way.

I'm doing it right now using defender with aramentaruim two magnetic grenades void two to the morgue and void against all odds! No primary needed, it isn't very hard if you try.

Void fusion rifle. Armour that increases special/fusion rifle ammo capacity. Bob's your uncle Fanny's your aunt. 4 hours tops.

It's one of the better guns so it has to have one of the hardest bounties. If wouldn't make sense if all you had to do was get a number of handcannon kills especially since the fine itself is pvp based
