Grind bounties and strikes until you reach level 2 with the vanguard. Then you can buy armor to get you to level 31. After that you can begin doing crota on normal to get the raid gear. Do the weekly heroic to get enough coins to have at lest one piece of exotic armor. Good luck!

All armor is rank 2 for vanguard. However, the chest piece and helmet require a commendation

Edited by Cubonej: 4/17/2015 6:21:56 PMyes true, but its really easier to buy the arms,chest,legs and use an exotic helm and then grind the CE raid for all the pieces. i made the mistake of buying to helm and then getting it to drop on the raid in the same day.
