Can't get past level 26
I'm having trouble getting past lvl 26. I've done plenty of strikes and few Eris bounties and a lot of regular bounties. I have rank 1 Vanguard and FWC. Do I just need to get them to level 2 and 3 to really do anything?

It's a bit of a grind but xur is the easiest way

Hit vanguard rank 2 before anything else. But armor, get an exotic from Xur. You will be level 29-30, start raiding. Or just find a team for normal VoG now.

Save strange coins and buy xur exotic armor Then rank up vanguard up to 2 then you will be at least 31 after all the armor lvling then do crota on normal get the armor from it and you just got your self a 32

26 is the hardest level to pass because you're gonna start needing legendary gear to hit 27. Once you hit 27 you will start cruisin

Don't do factions until you hit Vanguard and crucible level 3. This will ensure you have a good range of items to buy and don't max out marks early before level 3. Also if you have your FWC item on you will be collecting vanguard marks and won't be able to buy any armour with them.

If you do the Vanguard bounties on a daily basis you'll get to rank 2 and 3 in no time and you might try posting in the #recruitment section of the forum to see if anyone is willing to help you through the Vault of Glass raid :) good luck gaurdian

Or you could run VOG a lot and try to get all the armor from there

Also I used to give all engrams i got from my other characters, to my new character for a chance a legendary stuff, or higher light rare stuff.

Bounties, patrol missions, and strikes are your bestfriend. Get your vanguard 2 and if you still need legendary gear, hit up crucible and do bounties to get crucible to level 2.

Pretty much. Unless you get legendary armor from rewards, you won't level up until you can buy it from vendors.

Edited by xxEVILMONKYxx: 4/17/2015 8:54:02 PM[b]PLEASE NOTE[/b] - It is incredibly important to get at least Rank 2 Vanguard before you start leveling up a faction. Prior to VG Rank 2 you won't be able to spend any of your accumulated Vanguard Marks. Basically if you want to level up you must equip legendary armor, therefore you need to get rank 2 to move forward. If you're up for it you can always ask people to carry you through Normal VoG and hope for a placeholder item (as it's only 30 light) while you acquire better gear. Once you get to 28 then you can likely find a group to carry you through Crota Normal. I always encourage people to start running VoG early as it nets you much needed Ascendant Energy / Shards. Edit: Also do the Eris quest that gives you free arms (Urn of Sacrifice). This is by far the easiest way to get some decent armor to start off.

Only focus on one faction that being Vanguard. Get all the gear from your class vender level that be 31 ready to raid minus your tracking rocket launcher.

Easiest way to rank up vanguard is to do all bounties every day. Google for guides how to do them fast. Many have a trick to do them very quickly. Don't have any faction class item equipped when you turn them in. Also do patrols, public events and roc strikes. And you're about to need to start grinding for ascendant materials to level up your legendary gear, so do the vault of glass on normal. Use destinylfg.com. make sure you're honest in your post and say you're a noob looking for help. My name is my gt on xbox1. Add me and send me a message if that's your system. Keep doing Eris bounty and the missions you will eventually get an urn bounty that gives you 33 light gloves Get vanguard rep rank up to level 2 and buy the boots for 75 vanguard marks Buy the void fang vestments from xur Get a rare helmet with 19/21 light You should be able to do all of that by the end of the weekend. If you do all of that you will have 123 light which will get you to level 30 and to get to level 31 all you need is the raid helmet from vog 30 light or by next week you might have enough for the vanguard helmet.

Stop leveling fwc and just level up your vanguard level then buy legendary gear.

You need level 2 Vanguard to buy legendary gear. Unequip the faction class item and do strikes to get Vanguard 2. On my first character I was level 28 with two blues and two legendaries after hitting rank 2 and then could ease into endgame content. At 28 you're two weeks away from buying an Exotic armor piece from Xur from running the weekly heroic. What system are you on?

Buy voidfang vestments. Must have for Warlock. You'll be 27 then find some ppl to carry you through crota

Finish Eris urn bounty for decent gauntlet, Level vanguard to level 2 and buy boots. Level this up and you should be 27

Just keep grinding guardian. Go for Vanguard rep for now. Buy the armor you need, then work on the other factions.
