Can't get past level 26
I'm having trouble getting past lvl 26. I've done plenty of strikes and few Eris bounties and a lot of regular bounties. I have rank 1 Vanguard and FWC. Do I just need to get them to level 2 and 3 to really do anything?

Keep joining lvl30 weeklies until you find people willing to carry you. Get those 9 strange coins. 5. DestinyLFG - find person to carry you through the first two levels of the Crota Raid. You can get easy Lvl 30 Raid Gear this way and also Oversoul Edict and Abyss Defiant. Lots of people can solo the first two parts, and we all love to show off, so it shouldn't be hard to find someone. This part is the best "loophole" for fast leveling. It's fun to have a Grimoire 1400 character running practically full raid gear that you can get in basically 25 minutes. 6. Get an exotic helmet from Xur. Get exotic engram from Xur. If no good, shard it and use it to level your purchase from Xur. More Tips: Do NOT level any Vanguard gear past 29 Light. Raid gear starts at light level 30. So just swapping over, you win. This way you save a lot on materials. If you start a second character, remember Vanguard commendations transfer over, so you can purchase that Helm or Chest piece sooner than you think. Do not stick to a faction until you've hit at least Rank 3 with Vanguard. When you decrypt items you will inevitably get legendary items for another class. When you get 2 or more gear for another class, that's when you should start another character. I did these steps for my wife. Her first character level 31 in one week. get to level 3 on the vanguard and buy gear if you do the Eris missions after a certain point you'll get a legendary arm piece

Do your bounties everyday. Your weekly every week and grind vanguard roc strikes for engrams.

Yes,grind those factions baby!!! Seriously though you will never get beyond level 27/28 if don't get your Vanguard to level 2 but really you need to get to level 3 to unlock the weapons so you can damage high level (30+) enemies. Good luck. : )

You shouldn't level up other factions until you've leveled up vanguard to at least level 3, the other factions require crucible marks and if you're not a heavy PVP player it will take longer to be able to purchase the gear you need to level up.

Level your vanguard, then once you have a bunch of gear from them start raiding.

I was in the same boat dude. Lvl 26 I was there foe the longest time. Forget the bounties and start running the vog raid. Also get yourself and exotic piece asap. My levels started snowballing after I got my luxky raspberry

Stick to levelling Vanguard, since the vanguard marks you need to buy gear are much easier to come by than crucible marks that the vendors take, unless you PvP a LOT. Looking at your medal score I would guess you don't PvP very often. I don't either, so when I was levelling up the Vanguard armor was much easier for me to get. Run as many Lvl26 Roc strikes as you can, as there are decent drop rates for legendary engrams (one every four or five strikes in my experience) and you can get legendary armor from those as well if you're lucky. Plus each Roc strike gives you I believe six Vanguard marks and they add up quickly so when you do rank up your Vanguard it's easier to buy gear.

You should be focusing on just one faction if you really want to get your level up fast; trying to do the Vanguard and FWC at the same time will just slow you down. It's better to get the Vanguard to Rank 3 first so you can get your hands on some decent Legendary gear, starting with armor at Rank 2. Once you're done with that, then you should tackled FWC.

Focus on getting only one of them to at least 2 and 3 buy your 31 gear that way, or hop in with some vets to do the VOG. This is also a good way to get the shards you would need.

Grind crucible vendor or vanguard for gear to level to 30 including an exotic, then you'll get carried through crotas end

Get vanguard to level 2 and buy the boots. Then work on 3 for an commendation and buy a helmet or chest. Once you are at 27 or higher ask some people to help you run through crota normal.
