Can't get past level 26
I'm having trouble getting past lvl 26. I've done plenty of strikes and few Eris bounties and a lot of regular bounties. I have rank 1 Vanguard and FWC. Do I just need to get them to level 2 and 3 to really do anything?

Upgrade to rank three, buy armor. Then raid. Do as many crucible and vanguard bounties every day you can. Do dailys for ascendant material. Then Crota for radiant

I was a level 25 just a few days ago. But then I Xurned my Exotic helmet (Helm of Inmost Light,) and I went straight to 27.

Smash out your vanguard ranks. Do bounties and maaaaad patrols. You'll hit rank 3 with enough marks to get you some phat lewtz. Then you can do the nightfalls and weeklys to get exotics and coins.

You can only level up to 20 by gaining xp. After that you gotta equip armours with light. To reach level 21 you need +21 light, meaning that by adding the light numbers in your armours, you should get 21 light. After that it is 11 lights per level. 32(21+11) Lights for Level 22 43 for 23 54 for 24 65 for 25 76 for 26==] You are in between 26 and 27 87 for 27==] 98 for 28 109 for 29 120 for Level 30 From Level 30 you need +12 Light 132 for 31 144 for Level 32 You have all rare armours Your Helmet has a Light of +20 Gauntlet has a Light of +21 Chest Piece has a Light of +20 Leg Armour has a Light of +18 which adds upto 79 Lights which means you are in between 26 and 27. So you have to level up your Vanguard or Crucible or any faction Rank to 2. From them You can buy Legendary armour with higher light levels (Ikora Rey for Warlock Vanguard). Upgrade them till you can reach level 31(all +33 light armour). Then you can do Crota's End Raid to get +36 Light armour, with which you can be Level 32. Or you if you are a PVP person you can wait for the Iron banner event and reach higher ranks to buy armours with Light +36. It is better to do the raids. Because Raids are the best experience destiny offers. It is different from everything else. Exotic armours you buy from Xur come with Light +36(30-->36). Most of them have extremely useful perks. But you can only equip one exotic armour at a time. You class item(Warlock Bond) decides where your reputation goes(Hope you know that). Ways to Level Up your Vanguard Rank: 1. Vanguard Bounties 2. Weekly strikes(+450 rep for high level heroics and +500 for Nightfall) 3. Strike Playlists(+25 rep for every strikes) 4. Patrol missions give you 10 rep or 25 rep depending the mission. You need about 1500(or 2000) rep to reach Rank 2 from Rank 1. 2500 rep from Rank 3. Ways to Level Up your Crucible Rank: 1. Crucible Bounties 2. Every Crucible match gives you 10 rep if you lose, 25 rep if you win. Crucible armours can be bought from Lord Shaxx(That one horned guy) You can buy Legendary weapons from the Quartermasters(Rank 3 needed). To earn Vanguard Marks you can do Strike Playlists which gives you 6 marks per strike(Level 26 Vanguard Tiger or ROC) Daily story missions give also give you marks. Every Crucible match gives you 2 to 3 Crucible marks. You gotta grind a lot in this game. Its worth it though. There is still A Lot for you to learn in this game. Use the web more often.

1 ReplyBuy some exotic gear to get to level 27. Get some guys to run your through Crota. My buddy got 2 pieces of gear his first run. He's a 29 now in no time.

Get some people to run VoG and try and get raid gear and exotics. Then once you get 29 from a mix of raid gear and legendary gear, find some good people to run normal Crota. Ranking up from 26 is the hardest and the longest, but after that you can play around without worrying about being a high level.

Keep playing ROC strikes, do nightfall and weekly every refresh that's 1000xp for vanguard. Get enough vanguard marks, purchase some armour from them. Xur is here purchase an exotic (unless tou have one already) level it to 36. Hopefully you can be 27, find a group which can take you through crota. You obtain gear to be level 32! Best of luck guardian!!

Run vault of glass and get some raid gear... It's lvl 26 on normal and tons more fun than grinding strikes.

You just started playing. To get higher level, you need to raid more. If you're on ps4, I'll gladly help.

upgrade a set of blues to max light levels then keep grinding, striking and vanguarding and youll eventually get legendary purple gear - upgrade these and they will push your level higher - you can also purchase legendaries from the vanguard with the right number of marks - you must be lvl 2 vanguard though... if you collect coins - buy exotics - they will help the biggest advice i can give is... GRIND LOOT UPGRADE GRIND LOOT UPGRADE

Any faction rank 2 unlocks the ability to buy armor within that faction. While impractical you could grind enough marks (200 weekly cap) to buy 2 pieces from that faction. Any faction rank 3 unlocks the ability to buy weapons from that faction. Dont worry about it. Just focus on one aspect to push to rank 2. That means make sure your keeping the same class item equipped too btw. You start changing that you might be inadvertently rep jumping back and forth. 24-26 catches a lot of players and slows them right down. Again dont worry about it youll get by shortly. Best part is once you creep past rank two youll be landing purple gear in a windfall.

Complete the Eris quests for legendary gauntlets and Murmur. Grind Vanguard Roc strikes for rep (and bounties along the way) to 150 marks to buy boots + chest piece (or PVP, whatever floats your boat) then find a raid group :) and run weekly heroics for strange coins, I'd recommend an exotic warlock chest piece or helm from Xur!

but an Exotic piece of Armor from Xur finish TDB story and the Urn quest and get yourself a pair of gloves don't bother leveling other Factions until your Vanguard is a lvl3, marks are easy to get and you can buy yourself a piece of armor easily

Get vanguard rank 3 before getting an factions up. Vanguard marks can only be used by the vanguard faction and they're the easiest to get.

At vanguard level 2 you can buy legendary boots and gauntlets for 75 marks each. Get vanguard marks from patrols and strikes you can earn 100 max per week. Vanguard bouties , patrols and strikes will give you rep towards your vanguard level. Continue to lvl 3 to get a commendation and the ability to get a chest piece. Do weekly heroic to earn strange coins, save up 13 for an exotic helmet. Level them all up... Boom! almost 32. Then you have to start crota for better armour.
