Twinblade is a good idea. The Pursuer's Sword, not so much. The weapons themselves are not two-handed, but the Pursuer's Greatsword is listed as an Ultra Greatsword, and has a high strength stat and would most likely require two-handing at early levels.

  • Since I posted this I started using the TwinBlade. I like the way the weapon looks and feels, it just takes up a lot of weight, so I often find myself unequipping it for boss fights and using my Fire Sword.

  • The weight will be negligible with time. It is a nice weapon, being fast, and scaling off of Intelligence

  • You seem to know what you are talking about, so I'm going to ask you another question (even though I posted it a few minutes ago in this same thread lol). I found a Lizard Staff off one of the witches in the Chariot Boss earlier. It says it relies on two stats: INT and Faith, and damage scales depending on the lower stat. If I understand correctly, this means I should level up my Faith so it will be closer to my INT for more damage, right? My INT is 40~45 and my Faith is 10~15.

  • If you're focusing on INT, I wouldn't recommend it. Unless you want to do a hybrid build, in which case it would be advisable. There are !much stronger staffs in the game that focus on INT, so don't worry too much. :D

I must have been confused last night, but it only requires Faith if you are using it for Hexes. For basic Sorcery all it requires is INT, and it reaches S rank at some point too.

  • Huh. I never dabbled in sorcery and hexes, I only really worried about miracles. So what is your plan? Because I do know there is a better staff out there

    According to the Wiki:
Hints and Tips: This is a catalyst with better int-scaling in particular than the starting catalyst for sorcerers, but note that it is a very rare drop. While the damage of Staff of Amana (Human form) and Staff of Wisdom outclasses this staff, the S scaling and damage after infusing is a good consideration. This staff is also flexible, works on both casting both sorcery and hex despite the stat is sorcery dedicated, human or not, the output is always stable, it's the utmost reliable sorcery catalyst. Also it seemly has the fastest casting speed among the all three S scaling Sorcery dedicated catalysts. The only downside is the rather low durability, much close to a sorcery dedicated version of Sunset Staff. For a pure sorcerer, or INT-heavy, it's the best sorcery staff among all staves under normal-titanite upgrading path. since Int scaling reaches S scaling upon +10. Staff of Wisdom requires twinkling and is at the very end of the game. Staff of Amana is arguably better while in Human form, but significantly slower and again late-game, this staff only requires Titanite. Recommended to infuse with Faintstone since it has excellent int scaling for Magic and mediocre Dark scaling. Compared to Bat Staff after Calibration 1.06, this staff is sorcery dedicated and the casting speed is faster, while Bat Staff is hex dedicated, the casting speed is way slower.
Most likely I'll be sticking with leveling INT the majority of the time now. I'm not sure when I'll be running into another staff, and from what the Wiki says there aren't that many options that are better. I'll be trying to level my INT to 60ish, ATN up to around 30 or so, with some DEX thrown in there and possibly a few levels in VIT. I will continue focusing on Sorcery, and I will try fooling around with some Hexes too but I'm not sure if they would fit my play style. I might as well test them out since this staff works decently with them. Have to decide what level I would want to build my Faith up to, I'm thinking maybe 20. I'm an extreme newbie... I also didn't find out I could reinforce my armor until earlier this morning haha. I didn't know that existed; I assumed the armor worked the same as it did in Bloodborne. No wonder some of the bosses were doing some heavy amounts of damage.
