Same here. I've been playing since close to release, and though I "earn" exotics from time to time, they are usually duplicates of items I already have. Xur occasionally has items I don't have. He also sold me my first icebreaker, long ago, before all the noobs could be level 32 in a day's work...
If xur didn't sell decent weapons from time to time, this game would be an even bigger grind fest. And trust me, there isn't much room for even more grinding!!

I wouldn't call it grinding. That implies you can legit try for exotics the more you play. It's a few chances a week outta raids and a nightfall. The chances are low but getting one anywhere else is as close to impossible as they can make it.

It's grinding if you create a new character repeatedly to level up to 20 and retry the raids and all the exotic chances each week. =p

God. I forgot people actually did that. Bungie should do the humane thing and perma ban those people for their own good.
